Overview

Hajimemashite!  Amanda to moushimasu. Douzo yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

I began learning Japanese as a junior high school student in my native Canada. I have studied and worked in Japan for several years, including a three year term on the JET Programme working for a local authority in southern Honshu.

I have a BA in Asian Studies (Japanese and Linguistics major) from the University of Victoria (Canada), and an MA in Applied Japanese LInguistics from SOAS (London).  I was very proud to be the only one of my classmates who received a Distinction on her MA, despite being the only non-native Japanese speaker on the course.

I work currently as a tutor on the Languages for All programme, and on a module for the MA Translation course.
