Overview

I first joined Cardiff University as an AHRC-funded doctoral candidate in 2009, graduating in 2013 with a PhD in the cultural memory of French soldiers of the Algerian War. From 2012-2014 I was a student reviewer with the Quality Assurance Agency, while also gaining experience in roles supporting education and the student experience in Cardiff University Registry. In 2015 I became the College Education Manager in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. From 2018-2022, I joined the University of the West of England, leading teams responsible for Student Casework, Student Voice and Academic Policy. I returned to Cardiff in 2022, to help establish a new Education Development Service in the Learning and Teaching Academy, and now lead the Education Development Team. Outside of the University, I volunteer across two school governing boards in Bristol, specialising in support for pupils with special educational needs.

I maintain an active scholarly interest in ways to foster and embed student wellbeing within curricula, inclusive approaches to education, the development and oversight of academic regulations and policy, and the transition for students from schools into HE.
