My main interests are in evolutionary algorithms, heuristic search and multi-criteria optimization. I have a particular interest in techniques that combine heuristics with evolutionary approaches and scale to large combinatorial problems. Recent work has focussed mainly on vehicle routing, timetabling and scheduling, cutting, packing and placement applications and on developing new and simple approaches to multi-criteria optimization. I am also working with members of Cardiff Business School on supply chain optimization and sustainable transport.
