Biography
I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at Cardiff University and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). My research specialises in hydrological and hydrogeological modelling at the interface of surface water and groundwater, addressing complex water-resource challenges across diverse climatic regimes and spatial scales. I develop integrated modelling frameworks and forecasting systems that improve the quantitative understanding of groundwater–surface water interactions and their critical role in water availability, ecosystem resilience, and long-term water sustainability.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cuenca (Ecuador), an MSc in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham (UK), and a PhD from Cardiff University (UK).
Honours and awards
2025–Present — Marie Curie Postdoctoral Global Fellow, University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Cardiff University
2017–2021 — PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University
2015–2016 — MSc in Hydrogeology, University of Birmingham
