Overview
I joined Cardiff School of Law and Politics as a Lecturer in law in January 2023 after working as a Tutor since 2019. My main research interests lie in law and religion, and more broadly in law and the humanities. I research religious radicalisation, children's rights and legal history. I was awarded my PhD, entitled 'A Critical Legal Study of the Prevent Duty: The Religious Dimension' in 2024.
I co-lead the Legal History module and teach on the LLB modules of Land Law and Equity and Trusts. In the past, I have taught on the LLM in Canon Law module, and the LLB modules of Public Law and Family Law. I am a Fellow of the Centre for Law and Religion and of the Higher Education Academy.
I am NSS Lead and Student Voice Co-ordinator for Law at the School.

Research
I am interested in the interaction between law and religion, particularly in the contexts of human rights, children's rights, and counter-terrorism. More widely, I research in the field of Law and the humanities, including legal history. My PhD, entitled 'A Critical Legal Study of the Prevent Duty: The Religious Dimension', explored the religious dimension of the Prevent Duty and falls into two parts. These look at the impact of highlighting the Prevent Duty on the study of Law and Religion and on faith communities respectively.
Teaching
I joined the School as a Lecturer in January 2023. I co-lead the Legal History module, and teach on the LLB modules of Land Law and Equity and Trusts. I have previous experience teaching on the LLM Canon Law module, and the LLB Public Law and Family Law modules as both a Tutor and a Postgraduate Tutor. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
