Education Fellowships Programmes Manager

Role responsibilities

I manage Cardiff University's Education Fellowship Programmes: the series of AdvanceHE-accredited courses that enable colleagues to develop and gain worthwhile recognition for their teaching. Our expert team provides a wide range of flexible and accessible programmes to hundreds of colleagues each year and are driven to ensure new and experienced staff are equipped with the tools they need to thrive as educators. As well as looking after the overall operation of the Fellowship Programmes, I mentor many colleagues and contribute to the delivery of all our provision.

Key work/Specialties

  • Developing education
  • Leader for AdvanceHE Teaching Excellence Awards (NTF and CATE)
  • Thematic expertise across curriculum design, digital education and student support.

I started my career with a PhD in education history at the University of Manchester and then at the National Institute of Educational Research. I've been at Cardiff University since the mid-2000s in a number of different roles related to education development, and I've loved the opportunities to work across disciplines and exciting projects. I set up the CUROP programme, led the University's first massive open online courses, supported 10+ staff to win National Teaching Fellowships and led teams across digital education and curriculum design teams. I became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2021.
