Overview
I am a NERC GW4+ PhD Researcher developing novel ecosystem health assessment tools for ponds, establishing a metric for measuring pond ecological condition and also providing an evidence base for their statutory protection across landscape-scales in the UK. Bridging empirical research with computational approaches, I am also keen quantitative ecologist, and enjoy applying ecological networks and other modelling methods to understand the resilience of ecosystems, from which we can make predictions about ecosystem functions which are most vulnerable to global change.
I am based in the Freshwater Networks Lab at Cardiff University, and am also apart of the Foraging Ecology Research Group (FERG) at Newcastle University. My PhD project is supervised by Fred Windsor (Cardiff University), Ian Vaughan (Cardiff University), Jordan Cuff (Newcastle University), Lynsey Harper (Natural England) and Dan Read (UKCEH).
