Overview
I completed a BSc Physiotherapy at The University of the West of England, Bristol graduating in 2004. Following this I worked in a variety of locations in England and Wales, settling in Cardiff in 2009. I completed an MSc Advanced Practice at Cardiff University in 2020.
I joined Cardiff University as a full time lecturer in 2018 prior to which I was a clinical specialist in paediatric respiratory physiotherapy at The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales, working primarily in chronic respiratory and neuromuscular disease.
My teaching is focused around cardiovascular, respiratory and paediatric topics. I currently hold the role of Programme Lead for the MSc Physiotherapy and am deputy lead of the Practice-Based Learning team across the pre-registration physiotherapy programmes.
I am a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists with a particular interest in chronic conditions and breathing pattern disorders. My academic scholarly activity focuses on the student experience of education and practice.
