Communications and Events Officer
Overview
As the Communications and Events Officer I oversee all aspects of Jomec's internal communications, events planning and delivery, as well as Student Voice and student experience initiatives.
Research
I co-edited the monograph Made in Yugoslavia: Studies in Popular Music (Routledge) and a special issue on music and socialism for the journal twentieth-century music (Cambridge University Press). I have published on Yugoslav film music, popular music and politics, and the composer Josip Slavenski.

I have over ten years experience of teaching UG, PG and CPE courses on music and languages. My recent courses at Cardiff have included:

Biography
I read Music and Russian at Durham University (BA and MPhil), and obtained a PhD from Cardiff University with a thesis on Yugoslav Identity in Music and the Case of Josip Štolcer Slavenski.
My specialisms include music and politics in the Western Balkans, opera, and popular and film music.
I act as the international reviews editor for the journal Muzikološki Zbornik/Musicological Annual, and co-convenor of BASEES-REEMS (the Study Group for Russian and East European Music within the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies).
I was a Lecturer in Music at Nottingham University (2013−15), and an Early Career Fellow at the Institute of Musical Research (Royal Holloway, University of London (2016−17)).
