Overview
PhD student with research focused on the composition and evolution of the Earth's mantle. I am interested in topics such as mantle heterogeneities, mantle plumes, large igneous provinces, volcanism, and other magmatic processes (especially in oceanic settings). Also interested in integrated petrological/geochemical approaches which combine whole-rock analyses with in situ analytical techniques in the crystal-scale to investigate magmatic systems.
Research
Ongoing projects:
- The Composition and Evolution of the Earth's Mantle (PhD project, funded by NERC GW4+ DTP)
Previous research:
- Petrology of the Eocene alkaline volcanism from the western Rio Grande Rise, South Atlantic Ocean (MSc project, University of São Paulo; supervised by Prof. Valdecir de Assis Janasi; funded by São Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP)
- Geochemistry of basaltic lava flows and intrusive bodies from the Jacarezinho and Fartura region (PR-SP), Paraná Magmatic Province: a correlation trial (undergraduate research project, University of São Paulo; supervised by Prof. Valdecir de Assis Janasi)
