Overview
I am a novelist and short story writer with research interests in genre fiction, the monomyth, family structures in speculative fiction, and the creative process of blending genre conventions.
My first novel, Your Brother's Blood, was published in 2013 by Quercus' imprint Arcadia. The rest of the Walkin' Trilogy followed in 2014 and 2015. My short fiction has appeared in numerous markets and I have reviewed for critical journals, including New Welsh Review and the BSFA’s Vector. My most recent novel, Equinox, was published in 2022 with Head of Zeus.
I have co-written a fantasy trilogy under the pseudonym D.K. Fields, the first of which was Widow’s Welcome (August 2019, Head of Zeus). The rest of the trilogy was published 2020 and 2021.
I am also one half of the indie games company, Pill Bug Interactive, who have released three titles across PC and Nintendo Switch™.
