Biography
I started my career as a software engineer with Baan Info Systems (now called Infor) working in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software. I then moved to Philips Software Systems as a senior software engineer to work on MHP standards (on set top boxes, universal remote controllers etc.), I then moved to Oracle as a senior software engineer where I stayed on for 13 years to become a consulting member of technical staff working on exciting projects like the first Cloud based Database provisioning for which our team won a patent.
When I was given an opportunity to change my career from software engineering to teaching, I took my chances and became a Teacher of Computing in a private school in London and devised a computing curriculum for the secondary school sinking my teeth into all things academia. I then moved to Wales to become a Teaching Fellow in Swansea University, where I taught various modules for Degree Apprenticeship programme for three years and do STEM outreach programmes with schools (you can still see me do workshops with Technocamps). I moved back to India for a couple of years where I was doing freelance technical training for various clients, which included Morgan Stanley and various colleges. I moved back to Wales when I was offered this exciting position with Cardiff University as a Lecturer.
I am also a trained and certified yoga teacher.
Professional memberships
