Overview
I currently work as a PhD research student in developmental and educational psychology at Cardiff University, under the supervision of Dr Catherine Jones and Dr Kate Langley. My project broadly focuses on understanding and improving the support for neurodiverse students, within school. More specifically, my research focuses on current understandings (in secondary schools) of the behaviour that impacts classroom learning, the needs driving this behaviour, and the perception of the positive support to improve student outcomes.
Research
I have a keen interest in pursuing a career which promotes inclusive educational practice. My research will take a greater focus on supporting the improvement of student outcomes, both academically and their wellbeing. Through an initial enquiry with teaching staff, my aim is to explore what aides education staff in developing their relational approaches and nurture interventions when supporting students displaying impactful behaviours within the classroom, such as sexualised behaviour and misogyny.
