Teams and roles for Mirka Virtanen
Lecturer in Transport Planning and Mobilities
Overview
I am an interdisciplinary scholar interested in the politics of planning and delivering sustainable transport systems. My research interests focus on the role of stakeholder participation, resistance and media culture in shaping transport policy outcomes.
My current work explores the ongoing sustainability transition in Welsh transport planning and, specifically, questions around how devolved governance and stakeholder politics interact to influence sustainable transport approaches.
