Overview
A Lecturer at Cardiff University. He has nearly 14+ years of experience in DC transmission/distribution, HV and MV power electronic converters, power system operation, and 6+ years of experience in domestic solar PV inverters, EV battery chargers, and wide-bandgap semiconductors.
He has (co-)authored 50+ papers.
He is the Chair of the IEEE UK and Ireland Power Electronics Chapter (UK-I PELS) Chapter (https://www.ieee-ukandireland.org/chapters/power-electronics/).
He has acted as principal or co-investigator in 15 projects. Ongoing projects cover the development of active gate drivers, data-driven-based design optimisation of compound-semiconductor-based power converters, AC/DC technology for offshore wind energy integration, solar battery energy storage systems, and protection solutions for low to high voltage DC power systems.

Biography
Sheng Wang received the B.Eng. degrees from Cardiff University, Cardiff, U.K., and North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree from Cardiff University, in 2016. He was a Research Assistant during 2013–2014, a Research Associate from 2016 to 2018, and a KTP Associate from 2018 to 2020 with Cardiff University. Since 2020, he has been a Lecturer with the School of Engineering, Cardiff University.
