Overview
I am a PhD student at Cardiff University's School of Geography and Planning (now SOSSS), funded by the ESRC (WGSSS DTP). I hold two previous degrees from Cardiff University; BSc Human Geography 2024 (First Class Honours) and MSc Environment & Development 2025 (Distinction). Alongside my PhD research, I also teach on various undergraduate and postgraduate modules at the university.
Within human geography, my project connects to several subdisciplines, including social, cultural, political, environmental and development geography. My project also looks to make an original methodological contribution to human geography, at the intersection of postcolonial, feminist and creative methodologies. It specifically explores the debates surrounding development and decolonisation in the context of rural Afghanistan/Central Asia.
I am broadly interested in development, decolonisation, Indigenous ontologies, nature-society relations and the geographies of religion, with a specific contextual focus on the Global South, particularly Afghanistan and Palestine.
