Overview

Working alongside the Centre Director, I help support the development and leadership of CARE, ensuring the Centre is well-positioned to deliver excellent research, foster effective partnerships and maximise its impact.
My role brings together strategy, operations, finance and governance across a diverse portfolio of activities and projects. A key focus is on connecting people, ideas and resources, enabling collaborative working and helping the Centre respond to opportunities within the higher education, research and policy landscape.
Leading the Centre's professional services function, I work closely with colleagues across the University and beyond to strengthen partnerships, support collaboration and facilitate successful project delivery. The role involves oversight of a broad range of functions, including public and practitioner involvement in research, research engagement and communications, financial management, external funding bids, funder reporting, and the development of staff, resources and organisational processes.
Through effective planning, resource management and organisational leadership, this post helps ensure that the Centre is well-positioned to deliver on its strategic priorities, support high-quality research and engagement, and achieve its long-term ambitions.
CARE is funded by Health and Care Research Wales to develop cutting-edge research on adult social care. The Centre brings together multi-disciplinary expertise from across Cardiff University, and fosters collaboration with organisations and groups across the UK.
