Overview
I gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Bristol in 2010, and after this I completed Dental Foundation Training in the South West Deanery. Over the next 12 years I worked as an associate in several general dental practices, mainly within the NHS including high need areas in South Wales.
In 2016 I became a member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and in 2019 I was made an examiner for the MFDS exam for RCS (England).
Since 2017 I have been a Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff Dental School, where my roles have included:
- Year 5 lead
- Final BDS assessment lead
- Topic lead: Preparing for Patients Operative course
- Teaching on the Removable Prosthodontics and Periodontics courses
- Clinical supervision of undergraduate dental education clinics
Since 2024 I have been appointed as Director of Assessment & Feedback at the School of Dentistry.
In 2023 I undertook the Cardiff University Education Fellowship Programme and gained Fellowship with Advance HE.
I am passionate about using my General Practice experience to prepare students for a life in Dentistry, whatever path they choose. I have a particular interest in Minimal Intervention Dentistry and Cariology.
