Overview

I am the Communications Officer for SCALE Centre for Social Care and Artificial Intelligence Learning.

I communicate SCALE’s research and activities to the research community, social care practitioners, those with lived experience of care, policymakers, the media and the general public.

In a personal capacity, I write about the role of story, imagination and mythology in meaning-making at Bigger on the Inside. I am part of Lounge Gospel Community church in Pontypridd, and have an active interest in philosophy and theology. Please note I work part-time at 0.5FTE. My usual working hours of Monday 9–5, Tuesday 9–5, Wednesday 9–12.30. For urgent matters outside these times, contact [email protected].

Biography

I’m a writer, editor and communications professional with a background in publishing, higher education and the charity sectors. 

I’ve previously worked for University of Wales Press, Media Cymru, Inter-Varsity Press, the University of Buckingham, Scripture Union and Hodder Books.

I also have extensive freelance experience as a writer and editor and as a publishing and digital consultant. My publishing skills include developmental editing, copy-editing, manuscript reviews and query letter reviews. I also have experience in web design, WordPress theme and plugin development, filming and editing videos, podcasting, email newsletters and social media content creation. 

I have written for a variety of publications including The Critic, Western Mail, Gizmodo.co.uk, Premier Christianity, the Christian Research Journal and the Rabbit Room.
