Overview

I am a qualified Mandarin Teacher and Teacher Trainer with 15 years’ teaching experience at both secondary and primary schools in the UK. I am currently working as a Teacher in Chinese at Cardiff University Confucius Institute as well as teach Chinese at a top private school in Cardiff.

I was a PGCE school subject mentor and have been working as a Chinese examiner for Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment and IBO over the last ten years. In 2014 I was awarded The greatest contribution of promoting Chinese language and culture by the Lord Mayor of Bristol.

I have been working as an indepentdent educational consultant for many teacher training programmes in England and Wales, USA, China and Singapore. 

I am living in Cardiff with my family (my husband and 2 kids). I love reading and playing piano.

 

Biography

I hold a BA in Chinese Language and Literature (Nanning, China), a MA in TESOL (Warwick), a PGcert in teaching Chinese as a second language (SOAS) and a PGCE in Languages (Goldsmiths) with UK QTS.

In addition, I am currently studying a MRes in Social Research at UCL IOE and my research interests are: language teacher training and professional development; migrant teachers and teaching/learning Chinese as a second language.
