Overview
I am a PhD student in Economic Geography. My research project seeks to understand how new industrial pathways (wind industries) emerge at the regional level. While the concept of path creation is used to explain the emergence of industrial pathways, human agency drives path creation process. The fieldwork of the research focuses on Turkiye's and the UK's wind energy industries as emerging industries. To understand the path creation process in 2 countries, I first focus on what socioeconomic structures (existing institutions, industries and organisational support mechanisms at regional, national and international levels) provide for human agency. Then, I focus on how agency works at the regional level to mobilise heterogeneous actors in path creation. Mobilisation of heterogeneous actors means the emergence of entrepreneurial ecosystem in this research, while actor mobilisation is driven by ecosystem (network) orchestration (ecosystem orchestration means a spesific human agency). Last, I examine the impacts of path creation process of wind industries on regional development in terms of socio-economic and ecologic factors.
