Research
I am currently the Trial Manager for PLACEMENT, a clinical trial looking at pain management in people undergoing lower limb amputation for peripheral vascular disease and/or diabetes. My PhD investigated skeletal muscle and myocardial microvascular blood flow in older adults with chest pain and unobstructed coronary arteries using near-inrared spectroscopy, contrast-enhanced ultrasound and myocardial contrast echocardiography. I previously managed the ISCHEMIA trial, at 28 UK sites on behalf on the International Sponsor, which compared optimal medical therapy and revascularisation in people with stable angina and obstructive coronary artery disease.
Teaching
During my Phd, I taught on several first, second and third year undergraduate Sport and Exercise Science and Medical and Health Science courses at The University of the Sunshine Coast. In 2023 I taught Research Methods to MSc and intercalated medical students at Cardiff University.
