Mae fy ymchwil yn cynnwys niwroseicoleg a chyflyrau niwroseiciatreg gan ddefnyddio tystiolaeth o amrywiaeth o ddulliau niwrowyddoniaeth wybyddol.
Mae llawer o'm hymchwil yn cynnwys ymdrechion i ddeall sut y gellir esbonio aflonyddwch niwroseicolegol/seiciatrig o ran systemau prosesu cyn-sarhaus a'u llywio.
Er ei fod yn glinigol ddefnyddiol, nid yw nosoleg niwrolegol a seiciatrig draddodiadol yn cynnig llawer o obaith o esbonio'r mecanweithiau seicolegol heb gyfeirio at systemau seicolegol arferol. Mae fy ymchwil wedi cynnwys ystod eang o gyflyrau datblygiadol a gafwyd ac addysgiadol sy'n rhychwantu cyflyrau niwroseicoleg a niwroseiciatreg a defnyddio tystiolaeth o amrywiaeth o ddulliau niwrowyddoniaeth wybyddol.

Ymchwil
Fy ffocws cychwynnol oedd asesu ac adfer anhwylderau sylwgar ar ôl cael niwed i'r ymennydd, a chadarnhaodd llawer ohonynt fod esgeulustod gweledol yn anhwylder protean yr effeithiodd ei symptomau'n ddetholus ar wahanol ddulliau synhwyraidd, prosesau gwybyddol, parthau gofodol a systemau cydlynu.
Gan weld potensial dulliau niwroseicolegol gwybyddol ar gyfer deall seicopatholeg, bu ymchwil ddilynol yn archwilio set ehangach o symptomau seiciatreg, seicogymdeithasol a phoen gan gynnwys rhithwelediadau gweledol, aelodau rhith uwchrifol, ailddyblygu, somatoparaphrenia, trosi hysterig, aelodau phantom a thwyll salwch (malingeringering).
Yn fwy diweddar mae fy ymchwil wedi cynnwys archwiliad mwy penodol o delynegion - maen prawf craidd o seicosis. Byddai gwell dealltwriaeth o'r hyn sy'n ffurfio natur cred yn fuddiol, o ystyried ffocws modelau niwroseiciatrig gwybyddol ar y prosesau sy'n gysylltiedig â ffurfio cred anghlinigol. Ar hyn o bryd mae hyn yn cynnwys archwilio (1) nodweddion sylfaenol cred; (2) cyffredinrwydd credoau (gan gynnwys credoau tebyg i delynorion) a phrofiadau anghyson (gan gynnwys profiadau tebyg i rithwelediad) yn y boblogaeth anghlinigol; (3) y berthynas rhwng credoau a phrofiadau; a (4) cydlyniad tebyg i rhithdybiaeth a chredoau eraill.
Mae derbyn ymwybyddiaeth yn gynyddol fel maes ymholi cyfreithlon ac argaeledd delweddu swyddogaethol wedi ailgynnau diddordeb ymchwil yn y defnydd o awgrym hypnotig a chyda'r gallu hwnnw i drin profiad goddrychol ac i gael mewnwelediadau i weithrediad gwybyddol iach a patholegol. Mae ymchwil gyfredol yn cynnwys astudiaethau sy'n archwilio natur wybyddol a niwral hypnosis ei hun. Mae ail thema'n cynnwys defnyddio awgrym hypnotig i greu analogau clinigol gwybodus o anhwylderau niwroseicolegol strwythurol a swyddogaethol sefydledig. Gyda thechnegau delweddu swyddogaethol, mae'r math hwn o niwroseicopatholeg arbrofol yn cynnig ffordd gynhyrchiol o ymchwilio i weithgaredd yr ymennydd sy'n gysylltiedig â llawer o anhwylderau sy'n seiliedig ar symptomau a'u ffenomenoleg gysylltiedig.
