Fi yw Cyfarwyddwr Academaidd Rhaglen Ddoethurol De Cymru mewn Seicoleg Glinigol (DClinPsy). Rwyf hefyd yn cyfrannu at yr MSc mewn Anhwylderau Seicolegol Plant ac rwy'n Seicolegydd Clinigol ac yn Gyd-Ymchwilydd ar gyfer yr Uned Ymchwil Asesu Niwro-ddatblygiadol.
Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn disgyn i bedwar categori eang.
Yn gyntaf, mae fy ymchwil wedi ymdrin â phynciau amrywiol mewn perthynas ag oedolion a rhieni, gan gynnwys pynciau sy'n ymwneud â materion iechyd meddwl cyffredin (ee, gorbryder), personoliaeth a thrawma, niwroamrywiaeth (ADHD ac awtistiaeth), iechyd meddwl amenedigol rhieni, ac ymchwil ymyrraeth rhianta.
Yn ail, mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn datblygiad anawsterau emosiynol ac ymddygiadol mewn plant a phobl ifanc a sut orau i ymyrryd mewn problemau o'r fath. Mae diddordebau penodol yn cynnwys rôl gweithrediad gweithredol, datblygiad emosiynol ac empathi, ffactorau rhianta (rôl iechyd meddwl rhieni, galluoedd myfyriol rhieni ac emosiwn a fynegir gan rieni) yn natblygiad anawsterau emosiynol ac ymddygiadol plentyndod.
Yn drydydd, ond yn gorgyffwrdd o ran damcaniaethau perthnasol, mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn deall straen/llosgi sy'n gysylltiedig â gwaith a'r ffordd orau o ddarparu cymorth seicolegol i staff sy'n gweithio gyda phoblogaethau cymhleth (e.e. y rhai sy'n derbyn gofal mewn gwasanaethau diogel, digartrefedd neu leoliadau gofal cymdeithasol/iechyd meddwl eraill).
Yn bedwerydd, rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn ymwneud ag ymchwil i ffactorau seicolegol sy'n gysylltiedig ag amrywiaeth o feysydd iechyd clinigol (e.e., Ffibrosis Systig).
Yn glinigol, cyn gweithio ar y rhaglen seicoleg glinigol, gweithiais am chwe blynedd a hanner mewn lleoliadau diogel gyda throseddwyr, gan gynnwys mewn gwasanaeth Triniaeth Seiliedig ar Meddylfryd i ddynion, ac yn arwain gwasanaeth asesu a thriniaeth arbenigol mewn carchar i fenywod.
