Ymchwil
Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn cynnwys gwahaniaeth gweladwy ac effaith seicolegol byw gyda chyflwr croen (e.e. psoriasis, ecsema, acne, vitiligo, ichthyosis, ac ati). Rwy'n angerddol am godi ymwybyddiaeth o'r angen am gymorth seicolegol mewn gofal dermatolegol arferol ledled y DU, ac mae fy ymchwil PhD yn canolbwyntio ar gefnogaeth sy'n seiliedig ar ymwybyddiaeth ofalgar i deuluoedd y mae cyflyrau'r croen yn effeithio arnynt.
Rwy'n Ymddiriedolwr i Skin Care Cymru, ac wedi ymddangos yn erthygl y BBC "Instagram: From boy bullied for acne to beauty guru." Roeddwn hefyd yn rhan o Grŵp Trawsbleidiol ar Groen Senedd Cymru, yn gweithio gyda Gofal Croen Cymru a Llywodraeth Cymru i fynd i'r afael â materion sy'n ymwneud â chyflyrau croen. Rwy'n Olygydd Cyswllt Cleifion ar gyfer y British Journal of Dermatology ac yn cynhyrchu crynodebau iaith plaen o erthyglau ymchwil, fel y nodwyd yn ein golygyddol: Ymgysylltu â chleifion â'r BJD: Annog llais y claf a'r darllenwyr. Yn ogystal, rwy'n Gynrychiolydd Cleifion ar Gofrestr Ymyrraeth Bioleg Cymdeithas Dermatolegwyr Prydain (BADBIR). Rwyf wedi cyd-gyflwyno gweithdy ar 'Effaith Seicolegol a Seicogymdeithasol Byw gydag Ichthyosis' ar gyfer Grŵp Cymorth Ichthyosis, a gweithiais fel rhan o dîm ysgrifennu'r adroddiad ar gyfer yr Atlas Byd-eang ar gyfer Dermatitis Atopig (GADA).
Rwyf wedi cyhoeddi sawl astudiaeth empirig, gan gynnwys fy nhraethawd hir israddedig: stigma, pryder ymddangosiad cymdeithasol ac ymdopi mewn dynion a menywod â chyflyrau croen, a thraethawd hir fy meistr: profiadau dicter ar ddechrau a dilyniant soriasis. Rwyf hefyd wedi cyhoeddi peth o'm hymchwil doethurol, gan ymchwilio i brofiad rhiant a phlentyn o gyflyrau'r croen: perthnasedd ar gyfer darparu ymyriadau seiliedig ar ymwybyddiaeth ofalgar (fideo awdur yma), ac adolygiad systematig o ymyriadau seiliedig ar ymwybyddiaeth ofalgar ar gyfer plant, pobl ifanc a'u rhieni.
Cyn hynny, gweithiais fel Seicolegydd Cynorthwyol Anrhydeddus yng Nghanolfan Llosgiadau a Llawfeddygaeth Blastig Cymru, Ysbyty Treforys, Abertawe (Chwefror - Rhagfyr 2020), a chyd-awdur astudiaeth yn ymchwilio i'r defnydd o gynllunio nodau cleifion mewnol mewn canolfan losgiadau rhanbarthol: Dadansoddiad thematig o brofiadau staff a chleifion.
