Trosolwyg
Rwyf wedi bod yn gweithio yn y diwydiant adeiladu ers dros 20 mlynedd mewn gwasanaethau Pensaernïaeth, Rheoli Prosiectau ac Ymgynghori Dylunio Amgylcheddol, gan weithio yn y DU, Emiradau Arabaidd Unedig, Awstralia a Phortiwgal. Mae'r ystod o fathau o brosiectau yr wyf wedi gweithio gyda nhw yn cynnwys stadia chwaraeon, arenâu, meysydd awyr, gwestai moethus, codiad uchel, masnachol a swyddfeydd, addysg, dwysedd uchel ac isel cynllunio preswyl, a threfol. Mae fy mhrofiad yn rhychwantu pob cam o'r prosiect o gynnig, dichonoldeb, cysyniad a dylunio technegol, adeiladu a rheoli prosiectau, ar yr ymgynghori ac ar ochr cleientiaid.
Ar ôl dychwelyd i'r byd academaidd yn ysbeidiol yn ystod fy ngyrfa, rwyf wedi gweld gwerth y daith ddysgu barhaus a sut y gall gwybodaeth newydd gyfoethogi diwydiant yn fawr.
Gan ein bod bellach yn wynebu'r her fwyaf gyda'r argyfwng hinsawdd ac ystyried effaith enfawr yr amgylchedd adeiledig ar allyriadau carbon byd-eang, rwyf wedi penderfynu neilltuo fy amser i hyrwyddo gwybodaeth a gallu ein diwydiant i lywio'r argyfwng hwn trwy ymgymryd â PhD gydag Ysgol Pensaernïaeth Cymru a phartneriaid yn y diwydiant: Penseiri Poblog. Bydd yr ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar hwyluso lleihau carbon oes gyfan net sero adeilad y stadiwm.

Ymchwil
Ar hyn o bryd mae'r diwydiant adeiladu yn gyfrifol am 39% o allyriadau carbon byd-eang a'n taflwybr presennol o gynnydd o 3% mewn allyriadau carbon hyd at 2030 yn lle'r gostyngiad o 42% sy'n ofynnol i gyfyngu ar gynnydd tymheredd byd-eang i 1.5°C ar ôl diwydiannu, mae angen adeiladu heb allyriadau carbon ar unwaith.
Mae ffocws yr ymchwil hwn ar adeiladau Stadia a'i fwriad yw darparu methodoleg i alluogi cymhwyso strategaethau lleihau carbon bywyd cyfan i hwyluso lleihau allyriadau carbon sero net o'r math hwn o adeilad ar gyfer gweithwyr proffesiynol dylunio.
Mae astudiaeth o'r fath yn bwysig oherwydd mai'r Stadiwm yw'r math mwyaf o ynni sy'n defnyddio ynni ac a allai fod yn aneffeithlon oherwydd ei allyriadau carbon 3250-5000 kgCO2e / m2 sy'n llawer mwy na sectorau adeiladu eraill.
Bydd y dull ymchwil a fabwysiadwyd yn cynnwys adolygiadau llenyddiaeth strwythuredig i ddehongli meincnod a meini prawf astudiaeth achos, ffiniau a strategaethau lleihau carbon, er mwyn mynd ymlaen i broses brofi gylchol ar gyfer tair astudiaeth achos a ddewiswyd. Mae canfyddiadau'r ymchwil hwn yn gobeithio arwain at fethodoleg wedi'i dilysu i'w defnyddio mewn diwydiant.
