Ymchwil
Ymchwil aren
Gan adeiladu ar fy ngyrfa glinigol mewn nyrsio arennau, mae fy ymchwil wedi canolbwyntio ar ofal yr arennau, yn enwedig dialysis peritoneal. Rwy'n gyd-ymgeisydd ar Uned Ymchwil Aren Cymru, a ariennir gan Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru (£2.984M), sy'n cyflawni strategaeth Cymru Gyfan ar gyfer astudio diagnosis, atal, triniaeth a chyd-destun cymdeithasol clefyd yr arennau. Rwy'n cyd-arwain Cymuned Ymarfer Ymchwil y Gymdeithas Nyrsys Neffroleg. Yn 2024 deuthum yn Olygydd Cyswllt y Journal of Renal Care.
Roedd fy PhD a ariannwyd gan CBSBG yn ethnograffeg yn archwilio profiadau cleifion a theuluoedd o fyw gyda dialysis peritoneol (Baillie et al. 2012, Baillie and Lankshear 2014, Baillie and Lankshear 2015, Baillie 2018). Yn dilyn hynny, roedd fy Nghymrodoriaeth Ôl-ddoethurol yn astudiaeth dulliau cymysg yn archwilio gwybodaeth a phrofiadau cleifion a theuluoedd o peritonitis peritoneal sy'n gysylltiedig â dialysis (Baillie et al. 2018, Baillie et al. 2021, Baillie et al. 2023). Yn ddiweddar, bûm yn cydweithio â phanel rhyngwladol o nyrsys aren i gyd-ddatblygu dangosyddion sensitif i nyrsio dialysis peritoneal, sydd wedi'u cymeradwyo gan Gymdeithas Nyrsys Dialysis a Thrawsblaniadau Ewrop (Baillie et al. 2025).
Ar hyn o bryd, mae dau o'm myfyrwyr PhD yn ymgymryd ag astudiaethau ymchwil gofal arennau, gan archwilio haemodialysis a thrawsblaniad arennau.
Ymchwil ansoddol
Yn ystod fy ngyrfa, rwyf wedi cyfrannu at ystod ehangach o astudiaethau ymchwil gan ddefnyddio dulliau ymchwil ansoddol, gan gynnwys gofal lliniarol, oncoleg a chynnwys y cyhoedd (gweler y rhestr lawn o gyhoeddiadau). Rwyf hefyd yn goruchwylio prosiectau ymchwil ansoddol empirig, sydd hyd yma wedi cwmpasu ystod o gyflyrau hirdymor gan gynnwys anafiadau i'r pen, sgitsoffrenia, sglerosis ymledol a dementia.
Adeiladu capasiti
Mae gen i angerdd dros ddatblygu gallu a gallu ymchwil ar gyfer nyrsio a phroffesiynau perthynol i iechyd. Fel Dirprwy Arweinydd RCBC Cymru, rwyf wedi cefnogi ystod o weithwyr proffesiynol drwy'r broses ymgeisio a dyfarnu i sicrhau cyllid ymchwil, tra hefyd yn cyfrannu at Grŵp Gweithredol CBSRhCT ar lefel strategol. Ar ben hynny, rwy'n goruchwylio tri Cymrawd RCBC Cymru gydag astudiaethau cyn-ddoethurol yn archwilio rhoi organau, iechyd menywod a gwasanaethau allgymorth.
Rwyf wedi bod yn Rheolwr Rhaglen Ymchwil Ôl-raddedig ar gyfer yr Ysgol Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd ers 2021, lle rwy'n cefnogi myfyrwyr drwy gydol y daith ddoethurol, gan gynnwys cyd-arwain rhaglen datblygu academaidd.
Dinasyddiaeth ymchwil
Rwy'n Is-gadeirydd Pwyllgor Moeseg Ymchwil yr Ysgol Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd, ac yn eistedd ar Bwyllgor Uniondeb a Moeseg Ymchwil Agored y Brifysgol. Cyn hynny, roeddwn i'n aelod allanol o Bwyllgor Moeseg Ymchwil yr Ysgol Meddygaeth. Mae gen i brofiad o gadeirio ac archwilio Vivas.
Addysgu
Rwy'n addysgu ac yn asesu ar fodiwlau cyn-gofrestru, MSc a doethuriaeth, gyda ffocws penodol ar ddulliau ymchwil, moeseg ymchwil ac amodau tymor hir / cymhleth. Rwyf hefyd yn goruchwylio myfyrwyr sy'n ymgymryd â thraethodau hir israddedig a meistr, ac yn goruchwylio myfyrwyr doethurol. Cyn hynny, arweiniais fodiwl gofal cymhleth israddedig (lefel 6) a modiwl ymchwil ôl-raddedig (lefel 7).
Rhwng 2017 a 2023 roeddwn yn Ddarlithydd Gwadd ym Mhrifysgol Freiburg, yr Almaen, lle dysgais fethdoleg a dulliau ymchwil ethnograffig i nyrsys cofrestredig ôl-raddedig.
Deuthum yn Uwch Gymrawd yr Academi Addysg Uwch yn 2021, ar ôl bod yn Gymrawd ers 2016.
Rwy'n Arholwr Allanol ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe a Phrifysgol Derby. Rwyf wedi gweithredu fel Gwerthuswr ar gyfer Awdurdod Addysg Bellach ac Uwch Malta.
Bywgraffiad
Ar ôl cwblhau fy Baglor mewn Nyrsio (Anrh.), gweithiais fel nyrs staff mewn Neffroleg a Thrawsblannu ac fel nyrs banc ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Caerdydd a'r Fro. Yn 2009 enillais gyllid gan Gydweithrediad Adeiladu Galluoedd Ymchwil (CBSC) Cymru i ymgymryd ag efrydiaeth PhD llawn amser yn Ysgol Astudiaethau Nyrsio a Bydwreigiaeth Caerdydd (a ddyfarnwyd 2013). Roedd fy PhD yn canolbwyntio ar brofiadau cleifion a theuluoedd o ddefnyddio dialysis peritoneal, gan ddefnyddio dulliau ethnograffig.
Ymunais â Chanolfan Ymchwil Gofal Lliniarol Marie Curie, Ysgol Meddygaeth Prifysgol Caerdydd, yn 2012 fel Cynorthwy-ydd Ymchwil, cyn gweithio fel Cydymaith Ymchwil. Yn y rôl hon, gweithiais fel rhan o dîm ymchwil rhyngddisgyblaethol a chyfrannu at amrywiaeth o astudiaethau dulliau ansoddol a chymysg.
Ymunais â'r Ysgol Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd yn 2014 fel Darlithydd mewn Nyrsio Oedolion. Cefais fy nyrchafu yn Uwch Ddarlithydd yn 2021.

Ar hyn o bryd, rwyf hefyd yn goruchwylio tri chymrawd Ymchwil Cyntaf i Ymchwil CBSC Cymru, sy'n ymgymryd â phrosiectau mewn perthynas â rhoi organau, iechyd menywod a gwasanaethau allgymorth.
