Ymunodd Dr Fred Cram ag Ysgol y Gyfraith yn 2016 fel Ymchwilydd Gyrfa Gynnar ac mae bellach yn Ddarlith yn y Gyfraith. Ar hyn o bryd, ef yw Cyfarwyddwr y Ganolfan Trosedd, y Gyfraith a Chyfiawnder ac aelod o Bwyllgor Canolfan y Gyfraith a Chymdeithas. Cyn ymuno â Phrifysgol Caerdydd bu'n dal swyddi Addysgu ym Mhrifysgol Britstol a Phrifysgol Birmingham. Dros y blynyddoedd mae cyflawniadau academaidd Dr Cram wedi cael eu cydnabod ar lefel genedlaethol. Yn ogystal â derbyn y Cyngor Ymchwil Economaidd a Chymdeithasol, Gwobr Enwebwyd 1+3 Yn 2009 ymddangosodd fel un o'r 30 myfyriwr du mwyaf rhagorol ym Mhrydain yn rhifyn myfyrwyr Rhestr Bŵer JP Morgan. Yn 2010 ymddangosodd fel un o'r 100 o raddedigion du mwyaf rhagorol ym Mhrydain yn y cylchgrawn 'Future Leaders' a gyflwynwyd gan Barclays Capital.
Mae Dr Cram yn cymryd ymagwedd gymdeithasol-gyfreithiol tuag at astudio trosedd, cyfraith a chyfiawnder; Canolbwyntio'n bennaf ar integreiddio diwylliannol a gwneud penderfyniadau o fewn sefydliadau mawr, cymhleth a hynod ddatganoledig. Yn ehangach, mae ei ddiddordebau ymchwil yn cynnwys, cyfiawnder actiwaraidd, plismona, cyfreithlondeb a chyfiawnder gweithdrefnol. Mae ganddo brofiad helaeth o weithio gyda grwpiau elusennol; yn enwedig y rhai sy'n canolbwyntio ar adfer ac ailintegreiddio troseddwyr i gymdeithas. Mae Dr Cram wedi cymryd rhan mewn prosiectau ymchwil cydweithredol gyda'r Ganolfan Moeseg mewn Meddygaeth ym Mhrifysgol Bryste ac adran Cynllunio a Datblygu Ymchwil Cwnstabliaeth Avon a Gwlad yr Haf. Ar hyn o bryd mae'n aelod o Banel Cynghori Troseddau Cyllyll Ofsted, a Heddlu Avon a Gwlad yr Haf: Bwrdd Craffu Annibynnol a Goruchwylio (Acymesuredd).
