Ymchwil
Treuliais dair blynedd yn y Children's Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE), lle roeddwn yn rhan o ddau brosiect ymchwil yn archwilio camfanteisio troseddol ar blant ac yn arwain y prosiect Comparative Judgment. Roedd un prosiect yn canolbwyntio ar ddata gwasanaeth gan wasanaethau Plant a'r Gwasanaeth Cyfiawnder Ieuenctid i archwilio canlyniadau i bobl ifanc a theuluoedd sy'n derbyn cymorth. Roedd yr ail brosiect yn gyd-gynhyrchiad gyda gweithwyr proffesiynol sy'n mynd i'r afael â chamfanteisio troseddol plant (gwasanaethau plant, addysg, iechyd, tai, heddlu, cyfiawnder ieuenctid a gwaith ieuenctid). Nod y prosiect hwn oedd cynhyrchu deunyddiau a all helpu gweithwyr proffesiynol i gefnogi pobl ifanc sydd mewn perygl o ecsbloetio troseddol yn well ac mae canfyddiadau wedi'u cyhoeddi yn Youth Justice. Nod y prosiect Comparative Judgment oedd archwilio beth yw arfer da mewn cyfarfodydd rhwng gweithwyr cymdeithasol a rhieni yn ôl rhieni a phobl ifanc sydd â phrofiad o wasanaethau cymdeithasol yn ogystal â gweithwyr cymdeithasol.
Yn flaenorol, roeddwn yn Gydymaith Ymchwil yn Uned Caerdydd ar gyfer Ymchwil a Gwerthuso mewn Addysg Feddygol a Deintyddol (CUREMeDE). Yn CUREMeDE cynhaliais ddadansoddiad ansoddol (adolygiadau llenyddiaeth, cyfweliadau a dadansoddiad grŵp ffocws) ar brosiectau sy'n archwilio proffesiynoldeb mewn deintyddiaeth, rheoleiddio gofal iechyd, a hyfforddiant meddygon teulu yng Nghymru. Maeadroddiadau o'r prosiectau hyn wedi'u cyhoeddi yn y British Dental Journal, British Journal of General Practice, British Medical Journal, ac International Medical Education. Mae fy mhrofiad yn CUREMeDE hefyd wedi fy ysbrydoli i gyfrannu at Doing Research Online, adnodd dulliau ymchwil ar-lein a gyhoeddir gan SAGE.
Cwblheais fy PhD mewn Iaith a Chyfathrebu yn y Ganolfan Ymchwil Iaith a Chyfathrebu ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd yn 2019. Roedd fy ymchwil doethurol ymhlith y cyntaf i astudio defnydd domestig o fideosgwrsio trwy ddadansoddi recordiadau fideo a chyfweliadau. Yn 2016, cyd-olygais gyfrol o'r enw Downscaling culture: Revisiting Intercultural Communication. Mae canfyddiadau fy PhD wedi ymddangos yn y cyfrolau wedi'u golygu ac yn y cyfnodolyn Multimodal Communication.
Addysgu
Rwy'n arbenigo mewn addysgu dulliau ymchwil ansoddol ar unrhyw lefel. Rwyf wedi creu hyfforddiant pwrpasol am redeg grwpiau ffocws a dadansoddi data ansoddol ar gyfer Arolygiaeth Gofal Iechyd Cymru. Rwy'n addysgu myfyrwyr israddedig ac ôl-raddedig yn rheolaidd am gyfweld a dulliau grŵp ffocws. Rwyf hefyd wedi dysgu seminarau ar ystod eang o bynciau yn y Ganolfan Ymchwil Iaith a Chyfathrebu a'r Ysgol Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol. Rwyf wedi ennill Cymrodoriaeth yr Academi Addysg Uwch ym mis Hydref 2022.
