Rwy'n ddaearegwr profiadol sydd â diddordeb brwd mewn deall prosesau daear dynamig, sy'n cael eu gyrru gan hylif. Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar fesur arbrofol deunyddiau athreiddedd isel y gellir eu defnyddio fel rhwystrau i lifo, a'i nod yw deall o dan ba amodau y gellir defnyddio'r deunyddiau hyn ar gyfer gwaredu gwastraff (e.e. gwastraff ymbelydrol, tirlenwi, carbon deuocsid). Mae gen i ddiddordeb hefyd mewn storio ynni o fewn halwynau oherwydd fy mod yn angerddol am dechnolegau ynni adnewyddadwy a charbon isel.
Rwyf wedi gweithio ar storio carbon tanddaearol a'r rhyngweithio rhwng dau hylif gwahanol mewn cronfa ddŵr ddaearegol, gan astudio cymysgu, diddymu carbon deuocsid i mewn i lygod cronfeydd ac effaith heterogenedd athreiddedd athreiddedd cronfeydd dŵr. Rwyf hefyd wedi gweithio ar broblemau llif gwres a newidiadau rheoleg cramennog o ganlyniad i chwistrellu clawdd. Yn fwyaf diweddar, rwyf wedi bod yn astudio ymddygiad Thermo-Hydro-Mecanyddol (THM) clai, creigiau mwd a siâl i ddeall eu gallu i gynnwys cynhyrchion gwastraff yn ein hamgylchedd iswyneb. Rwy'n defnyddio dulliau arbrofol, modelu cyfrifiadurol ac analog o ffenomenau daearegol, ac yn cymhwyso arsylwadau a wneir yn y maes a'r labordy gyda'r rhai a ragwelir gan fodelau.
Yn ogystal â'm gweithgareddau ymchwil parhaus, rwyf wedi ymrwymo'n gryf i arferion ymchwil moesegol ac uniondeb ymchwil da, ac rwy'n aelod o Bwyllgor Moeseg Ymchwil yr Ysgol.
