Rwy'n hanesydd cyfoes sy'n gweithio yn yr Adran Astudiaethau Sbaenaidd yn yr Ysgol Ieithoedd Modern ac ymunais â Phrifysgol Caerdydd yn 2002 o'r Adran Hanes yn Queen Mary, Prifysgol Llundain. Cyn hyn, treuliais saith mlynedd yn ninas Barcelona, lle cwblheais fy ndoethuriaeth. Mae fy ymchwil wedi canolbwyntio ar hanes Catalwnia yn yr 20g ac yn benodol, mynegiant gwleidyddol cenedlaetholdeb Catalwnia o dan unbennaeth Franco a Sbaen ddemocrataidd. Roedd ymchwil ddiweddar yn canolbwyntio ar ymddangosiad mobileiddio o blaid annibyniaeth yng Nghatalonia a cwblheais fonograff ymchwil ar gyfer Routledge ar y pwnc hwn yn 2018. Cyhoeddais i Catalwnia: A New History yn 2022 yn y gyfres Astudiaethau Routledge mewn Hanes Modern Ewropeaidd.
Rwy'n olygydd Llawlyfr Hanes Sbaen, cyfrol sy'n dwyn ynghyd 45 o ysgolheigion Sbaeneg a rhyngwladol Sbaen, i'w chyhoeddi ddiwedd 2023.
Rwy'n gyfrannog mewn cyfres o geisiadau cyllid ymchwil llwyddiannus gydag ysgolheigion o brifysgolion Sbaeneg ac Ewropeaidd eraill, gyda phrosiectau'n canolbwyntio ar ranbarthau, cenedlaetholdeb a hunaniaeth yn Sbaen. Mae'r diweddaraf, gyda chyllid gan Weinyddiaeth Addysg a Gwyddoniaeth Sbaen, yn rhedeg o 2023 i 2026 ac mae'n cynnwys cydweithwyr o brifysgolion Valencia a Barcelona.
Rwy'n addysgu cyrsiau ar hanes modern a chyfoes Sbaen, ac yn cydlynu Protest ac Anghydffurfiaeth Modiwl Blwyddyn Olaf yr Ysgol yn y 1960au.
Rwy'n croesawu ymholiadau gan ddarpar fyfyrwyr PhD ar unrhyw faes o hanes a gwleidyddiaeth Catalaneg fodern, cenedlaetholdeb yn Sbaen ac ymagweddau damcaniaethol tuag at genedlaetholdeb ac rwyf wedi goruchwylio'n llwyddiannus i gwblhau pedwar myfyriwr, yn fwyaf diweddar yn 2020.
Rwy'n gwneud sylwadau rheolaidd yn y cyfryngau cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol ar faterion sy'n peri pryder cyfoes i Sbaen, gan gynnwys y BBC, CNN, Ffrainc 24, y Associated Press a TRT World, ac rwyf wedi cael fy enwi mewn nifer o gyfryngau Sbaeneg gan gynnwys El Pais, La Vanguardia, Vilaweb a CTXT.
