Cyfarwyddwr Treialon Heintio, Llid ac Imiwnedd a Phrif Gymrawd Ymchwil
- Ar gael fel goruchwyliwr ôl-raddedig
Trosolwyg
Fi yw Cyfarwyddwr yr Is-adran Treialon Heintio, Llid ac Imiwnedd ac yn Brif Gymrawd Ymchwil yn y Ganolfan Treialon Ymchwil.
Yn fy rôl fel Cyfarwyddwr, rwy'n darparu uwch arweinyddiaeth ar draws ein Is-adran Heintio, Llid ac Imiwnedd ac rwy'n gyfrifol am bortffolio mawr o dreialon ac astudiaethau eraill sydd wedi'u cynllunio'n dda sy'n ymdrin â'r themâu canlynol:
- Clefydau heintus
- Anhwylderau fasgwlaidd
- Amodau llidiol cyfryngol immune
Mae gen i Gymrodoriaeth Ymchwil Iechyd pum mlynedd a ddyfarnwyd gan Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru i ymchwilio i'r defnydd o Prophylaxis Cyn-Exposure (PrEP) mewn unigolion sydd mewn perygl o gaffael HIV sy'n byw yng Nghymru.
Rwyf hefyd yn Arweinydd Academaidd ar gyfer Ymgysylltu â Rhanddeiliaid yn elfen Treialon Cymru.
Mae fy nghefndir mewn Ystadegau Meddygol, ac rwyf wedi bod yn gweithio ar ddylunio, cynnal, dadansoddi ac adrodd ar hapdreialon ac astudiaethau eraill sydd wedi'u cynllunio'n dda ers 2007. Cwblheais fy PhD ar ddiwedd 2016, gyda fy nhraethawd ymchwil yn dwyn y teitl " Glynu wrth Feddyginiaeth mewn Ymchwil Glinigol a Heriau Methodolegol Cysylltiedig".
Yn glinigol, mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddio meddyginiaeth ddarbodus ym maes clefydau heintus, a gellir rhannu fy ngwaith yn fras yn ddau faes allweddol:
- Glynu wrth feddyginiaeth - yn benodol, ffyrdd y mae cadw at feddyginiaeth yn gysyniadol, mesuredig, a modelu
- Datblygu a gwerthuso ymyriadau stiwardiaeth gwrthficrobaidd
Mae fy meysydd o ddiddordeb methodolegol yn cynnwys:
- Treialon a methodoleg ymchwil gyffredinol (gwella'r ffyrdd yr ydym yn cynnal hapdreialon ac astudiaethau eraill sydd wedi'u cynllunio'n dda)
- modelu achosol (modelu dulliau sy'n anelu at ateb cwestiynau achosol, yn hytrach na chymdeithasu'n unig)
- Data ar goll (atal, a gosod modelau pan fydd data ar goll).
