Trosolwyg
My research and teaching interests were developed within musculoskeletal movement science, facilitating the development of tools for physical activity, performance outputs, health and wellbeing. This comes from a background in sport and exercise science and human movement biomechanics and developed in medical health and engineering. My contribution to the research is focused on analysis that inform movement performance and rehabilitation assessments in objective manners while incorporating patient experience as well-rounded clinically beneficial tools. I have worked with both musculoskeletal and neurodegenerative patient groups and believe movement health assessments to be key aspects in advancing treatments for both these condition types. My research interests have continued to grow into wider areas of providing well developed research methods for healthcare, provision of education and clinical outcomes that inform future policy, patient treatment or public knowledge of health and wellbeing.
Rwy'n angerddol am iechyd symud a gwella ymchwil, addysg a dadansoddiad perthnasol dynol yn y maes hwn. Fel brwdfrydig chwaraeon ac awyr agored, rwy'n awyddus i annog lefelau iach o symudedd, a chyfrannu at y maes hwn o wybodaeth gydag ymchwil a datblygu addysgu.

Ymchwil
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio gyda'r Ganolfan Treialon Ymchwil ym maes rheoli ymchwil ar gyfer treial cemotherapi ledled y DU ar gyflenwi cyffuriau gwrth-ganser newydd. Mae hyn er mwyn darparu triniaeth fel nwy aerosoledig trwy lawdriniaeth laparosgopig gan ymgorffori 40+ o safleoedd ledled y wlad i drin cleifion canser y colon, yr ofari a'r stumog â metastases peritoneal. Mae hwn yn dreial basged RCT a ariennir gan NIHR, gyda chanlyniadau disgwyliedig iawn i'w cyhoeddi a'u dosbarthu'n rhyngwladol.
Datblygodd fy ymchwil o gefndir biomecaneg clinigol. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys invesitgation cinetig a kinematic swing braich wrth redeg a chasglu data rolau Cynorthwy-ydd Ymchwil yn gweithio gyda gwahanol boblogaethau clinigol (cleifion strôc cronig a Marchogaeth gyda'r elusen Anabl ). Roedd fy ymchwil PhD yn canolbwyntio ar offer asesu i ymchwilio i therapiwtig â llaw a chyfrannu at ddeall ei effeithiau ar ansawdd cyhyrau, patrymau symud, cydbwysedd ffwcntional, poen a blinder hunan-gofnodedig. Mae fy ngwaith fel Cydymaith Ymchwil Ôl-ddoethurol yn canolbwyntio ar dechnoleg synhwyrydd i lywio asesu cleifion a monitro fel offer clinigol buddiol. Mae hyn yn cynnwys cefnogi dadansoddiad gait osteoarthritis (OA), datblygu profion synhwyraidd meintiol gyda Chanolfan Ymchwil Delweddu'r Ymennydd Prifysgol Caerdydd, datblygu camera ffôn yn offeryn amcangyfrif gydag Agile Kinetic Ltd., OATech + ymchwil ar gyfer integreiddio / dadansoddi setiau data OA, mesur nociception, datblygu/integreiddio synhwyrydd gwisgadwy ac adolygu technoleg biofecanyddol ar gyfer casglu data o bell.

Addysgu
Rwy'n cefnogi addysgu ar gyfer myfyrwyr Meddygaeth Is-raddedig gyda goruchwyliaeth prosiect ar adolygiadau litreature seiliedig ar dechnoleg gofal iechyd.
Rwyf wedi cefnogi addysgu ar gyfer myfyrwyr Peirianneg Feddygol Israddedig gyda goruchwyliaeth prosiect, cymorth tiwtorial labordy, hyfforddiant technoleg adfer / synhwyrydd gwisgadwy, dulliau ymchwil a hyfforddiant ystadegau, adborth adroddiadau ac asesiadau.
Yn ystod y blynyddoedd o gwblhau fy PhD, cadwais i gymryd rhan barhaus mewn addysgu myfyrwyr israddedig mewn Biomecaneg Chwaraeon Rhagarweiniol a Chanolradd, Ffisioleg Ymarfer Corff, Iechyd a Maeth a Sylfeini modiwlau Gwyddor Chwaraeon Gymhwysol. Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, enillais Gymrodoriaeth Gyswllt gyda'r Academi Addysg Uwch ac rwy'n parhau i fod yn frwdfrydig tuag at addysgu.
Bywgraffiad
Cwblheais fy PhD ym Mhrifysgol Napier Caeredin, lle ymchwiliais i ddadansoddiad biofecanyddol o ymyrraeth asgwrn cefn mewn pobl â sglerosis ymledol a phoen isel yn y cefn. Cydweithiodd y prosiect hwn gydag Ymchwil Meddygol yr Alban a Pacla Medical Ltd ac ymchwilio i effeithiau therapi â llaw ar ansawdd cyhyrau, patrymau symud, cydbwysedd swyddogaethol, poen a blinder hunan-gofnodedig. Roeddwn yn parhau i fod yn aelod allweddol o'r gymuned myfyrwyr ymchwil trwy eistedd fel cynrychiolydd ar y Pwyllgor Ymchwil Moeseg, y Pwyllgor Trefniadaeth Cynhadledd Ymchwil ac fel Cynrychiolydd Myfyrwyr Ymchwil yn ogystal â chadw cyfranogiad rheolaidd mewn addysgu Israddedig.
Ymunais â'r tîm yn y Cyfleuster Ymchwil Biomecaneg Cyhyrysgerbydol (MSKBRF), cyfleuster ymchwil o'r radd flaenaf, ym mis Ionawr 2020 fel Cydymaith Ymchwil Ôl-ddoethurol sy'n cefnogi prosiectau a ariennir gan EPSRC, Versus Arthritis a Llywodraeth Cymru. O fewn y cyfleuster, rwy'n rhedeg nifer o brosiectau ymchwil sy'n gweithio tuag at gyllid grant pellach ac yn cyfrannu at fodiwlau addysgu. Rwy'n gweithio fel y Rheolwr Labordy Clinigol, gan gynnal y ddogfennaeth a chydlynu gweithgareddau labordy gan gynnwys sicrhau bod protocolau a gymeradwywyd gan Covid-19 ar waith. Rwy'n cefnogi Dadansoddiad Salwch Clinigol hanfodol yn y cyfleuster gyda'r Uned Peirianneg Adsefydlu yn GIG Caerdydd a'r Fro yn cyfrannu at benderfyniadau triniaeth glinigol.
Rwyf hefyd wedi gweithio fel Cydlynydd Ymchwil ar gyfer Rhwydwaith OATechech+, Rhwydwaith Ymchwil a ariennir gan EPSRC sy'n anelu at yrru datblygiad technoleg ymlaen mewn ymchwil osteoarthritis. Rhwydwaith ledled y DU yw hwn sy'n cydweithio â nifer o sefydliadau blaenllaw ac mae'n cynnwys perfformio adolygiadau cyllid, hwyluso a chadeirio Cyfarfodydd Ffocws/Pwll Tywod, cyflwyno a chydlynu allbynnau ymchwil, a chynnal gwefan y Rhwydwaith a chyfathrebu ar-lein.
