Ymunais â'r Ysgol Fferylliaeth a Gwyddorau Fferyllol ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd fel darlithydd yn 2001 ac mae bellach yn Athro Traffig Pilenni a Chyflenwi Cyffuriau ac yn 2018 deuthum yn Gyfarwyddwr Ymchwil, Arloesi ac Ymgysylltu ar gyfer yr Ysgol. Cyn hynny, enillais fy PhD mewn biocemeg protein a crisialog yng Ngholeg Birkbeck, Prifysgol Llundain, ac ymgymerais â swyddi ôl-ddoethurol yn ymchwilio i draffig pilen ar y llwybr endocytig yn y Labordy Ffisiolegol, Prifysgol Lerpwl ac Ysgol Iechyd Cyhoeddus Harvard, Prifysgol Harvard, UDA.
Yn 2000 dyfarnwyd Cymrodoriaeth Sefydliad Bioleg Moleciwlaidd Ewrop i mi weithio yn y Labordy Bioleg Moleciwlaidd Ewropeaidd (EMBL), Heidelberg, yr Almaen a pharhaodd yn yr EMBL pan ddyfarnwyd Ysgoloriaeth Sefydliad Alexander von Humboldt i mi.
Mae gen i ddiddordeb brwd yn y ddealltwriaeth gyhoeddus o wyddoniaeth, yn enwedig drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, ac yn 2001 dyfarnwyd Diploma mewn Newyddiaduraeth gan Brifysgol Cymru Bangor. Ers hynny rwyf wedi bod yn weithgar iawn mewn gweithgareddau allgymorth gwyddoniaeth ac wedi trefnu sawl arddangosfa wyddoniaeth fawr yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru - gweler isod am Ymgysylltiad â'r Cyhoedd â Gwyddoniaeth.
Rwy'n aelod o themâu ymchwil yr Ysgol:

- Optimeiddio Meddyginiaethau a Chanlyniadau Gofal Iechyd
Mae gen i ddiddordeb mawr mewn endocytosis a chyflwyno macromoleciwlau therapiwtig. Mae fy mhrosiectau cyfredol yn dod o dan y themâu cyffredinol o reoleiddio endocytosis a llwybrau endocytig:

Ymgysylltiad y cyhoedd â gwyddoniaeth
Rwy'n weithgar iawn mewn ymgysylltu â'r cyhoedd mewn gwyddoniaeth, ac wedi cael cyllid gan Ymddiriedolaeth Wellcome ac EPSRC i sefydlu gweithgareddau ymgysylltu â'r cyhoedd mawr. Rwy'n cyfrannu'n rheolaidd at raglenni newyddion y BBC, S4C a Radio Cymru ac rwyf hefyd yn ymwneud â thrafod agweddau eraill ar wyddoniaeth ar y teledu a'r radio. Yn 2010 a 2011 arweiniais brosiect Ymgysylltu â'r Cyhoedd a noddwyd gan yr EPSRC i dynnu sylw at y wyddoniaeth amlddisgyblaethol sy'n gysylltiedig â pheirianneg meinwe, a photensial peirianneg meinwe. Enillwyd y Wobr Partneriaeth ar gyfer Ymgysylltu â'r Cyhoedd gwerth £55K "Peirianneg Meinwe ar gyfer Iachâd Dynol" gyda Dr Bob Steadman (MEDIC) a Dr Pete Griffiths (CHEMY) ac roedd yn cynnwys sefydlu arddangosfeydd a gweithgareddau peirianneg meinwe mewn gwahanol leoliadau yng Nghymru ac fe'i lansiwyd yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru 2010 yng Nglyn Ebwy. Wedi'i gynnwys yno, ac yn y flwyddyn ganlynol yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Wrecsam, roedd ystod eang o weithgareddau rhyngweithiol ac addysgol ym Mhafiliwn Gwyddoniaeth yr Eisteddfod. Roedd y rhain yn cynnwys gêm Operation maint go iawn, rasys maggot a pos Bôn-gelloedd. Bydd y pos Bôn-gelloedd nawr yn nodwedd reolaidd yng nghanolfan wyddoniaeth Techniquest ym Mae Caerdydd.

Career profile
I was appointed as Lecturer in Molecular Cell Biology at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cardiff University in 2001, and was promoted to senior Lecturer in 2007 then to Reader in Membrane Traffic and Drug Delivery in 2011. Previously I gained my PhD in protein biochemistry and crystallography at Birkbeck College, University of London, and undertook postdoctoral positions investigating membrane traffic on the endocytic pathway at the Physiological Laboratory, University of Liverpool and Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University, USA.
In 2000 I was awarded a European Molecular Biology Organization fellowship to work at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg Germany and continued at the EMBL and awarded an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Scholarship.
I have a keen interest in the public understanding of science and in 2001 was awarded a Diploma in Journalism from the University of Wales Bangor.
