Athro, Cyfarwyddwr CUBRIC
- Ar gael fel goruchwyliwr ôl-raddedig
Trosolwyg
Cenhadaeth graidd CUBRIC yw hyrwyddo technegau delweddu'r ymennydd i wella ein dealltwriaeth o strwythur a swyddogaeth yr ymennydd mewn iechyd a chlefydau. Fel y Cyfarwyddwr, rwy'n darparu arweiniad strategol i weithgareddau'r ganolfan.
Mae fy ymchwil fy hun yn canolbwyntio ar optimeiddio delweddu cyseiniant magnetig anfewnwthiol i dynnu mewnwelediadau meintiol i strwythur yr ymennydd, mewn iechyd (gan gynnwys mewn datblygu a heneiddio), ac mewn clefyd (gan gynnwys ystod o gyflyrau niwrolegol, seiciatrig ac oncolegol).
Efallai y bydd y darn sydd wedi'i gysylltu yma yn ddefnyddiol i ddeall yr hyn rwy'n ei wneud.
Mae fy ngwaith diweddar, yn bennaf mewn MRI trylediad, wedi canolbwyntio ar ddau eithaf:
1. Manteisio ar raddiannau delweddu cryf iawn
Rydym yn gwthio terfynau nodweddu microstrwythurol meinwe mewn mater gwyn a llwyd gan ddefnyddio sganiwr Siemens Connectom . Mae'r llun isod yn dangos fy ymennydd fy hun (llonydd o eitem newyddion y BBC yma).
2. Datblygu MRI trylediad ar dir isel
Gan weithio gyda Sefydliad Bill a Melinda Gates, a Hyperfine, mae ein grŵp yn datblygu'r gallu i ail-greu llwybrau mater gwyn ar beiriannau cost isel, cludadwy iawn. Mae'r llun isod yn dangos ail-greu llwybrau iaith yn 64 mT.
Mae'r gwaith olaf hwn yn cyd-fynd â'm hangerdd dros ddemocrateiddio mynediad at MRI yn ei ystyr ehangaf.
Y tu hwnt i MRI trylediad, rydym yn ehangu ein pecyn cymorth i gwmpasu relaxometreg aml-gydran a delweddu trosglwyddo magnetization meintiol, gan anelu at nodweddu cynhwysfawr o fater gwyn.

Diddordebau ymchwil ôl-raddedig
Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddelweddu strwythur yr ymennydd ar y lefel macro a micro-strwythurol. Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn sut y gallwn ragweld swyddogaeth yr ymennydd o asesiad meintiol o strwythur yr ymennydd, yn enwedig y mater gwyn sy'n ffurfio'r cysylltiadau rhwng gwahanol ranbarthau'r ymennydd. Heb ddealltwriaeth fanwl o gysylltiadau a chysylltedd yr ymennydd, ni allwn ddeall yn llawn sut mae'r ymennydd yn gweithio. Eto i gyd, mae hwn yn faes sy'n cael ei anwybyddu i raddau helaeth mewn niwrowyddoniaeth wybyddol. Mae fy ymchwil yn ceisio llenwi'r bylchau hyn yn ein gwybodaeth. Rwy'n defnyddio ystod o dechnegau gan gynnwys delweddu tensor trylediad, relaxometreg, volumetry a delweddu trosglwyddo magnetization ac yn cyfuno'r mesurau hyn ag asesu swyddogaeth yr ymennydd gan ddefnyddio profion gwybyddol traddodiadol a dulliau niwroddelweddu o'r radd flaenaf i asesu swyddogaeth yr ymennydd, gan gynnwys MRI swyddogaethol, magnetoenceffalograffeg (MEG) ac ysgogiad magnetig traws-cranial (TMS).
Mae cyfleoedd ar gyfer ymchwil yn cwmpasu pob rhan o'r sbectrwm o ddatblygu dulliau sylfaenol (sy'n addas ar gyfer y rhai sy'n fwy technegol ganolog), hyd at ymchwil sy'n cael ei yrru gan gymwysiadau pur gan ddefnyddio'r dulliau hyn i astudio'r ymennydd iach a chlaf.
Os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn gwneud cais am PhD, neu am ragor o wybodaeth am fy ymchwil ôl-raddedig, cysylltwch â mi'n uniongyrchol (manylion cyswllt ar gael ar y dudalen 'Trosolwg'), neu gyflwyno cais ffurfiol.
