Ymchwil
My research and teaching interests focus on British and Irish politics and public policy.
I am particularly interested in intra-party dynamics in government and opposition and how these impact policy formation, development and implementation. I have published on coalition forming and government formation, notably examining confidence and supply agreements. Currently my research focus is on the core executive and the role and responsibilities of the deputy prime minister (see publications).
I also research and teach on Northern Irish politics and am currently part of a PSA funded project looking at the roles of Northern Ireland MPs in Westminster and TDs in Dáil Éireann.
