Mae Maneesh Kumar yn Athro Gweithrediadau Gwasanaeth yn Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd, Prifysgol Caerdydd. Mae ganddo hefyd rôl Athro Gwadd anrhydeddus ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Caerdydd a'r Fro.
Mae'n cynnal ymchwil gymhwysol trawsddisgyblaethol ym maes Rhagoriaeth Weithredol gan gynnwys pynciau megis Rheoli Ansawdd, Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Lean, Green, and Innovation (iLEGO), Proses Gofal Iechyd/Arloesi Gwasanaeth gan ddefnyddio Dadansoddeg Data Mawr, Clwstwr Gwybodaeth ar gyfer gwella gallu o fewn BBaChau. Mae hyn wedi arwain at gyhoeddiadau o dros 165 o bapurau cyfnodolion a chynadleddau, llyfrau wedi'u golygu a thrafodion cynadleddau. Mae ei gyfranogwyr ymchwil yn cwmpasu amrywiaeth o ddiwydiant gan gynnwys Diwydiant Modurol (India, y DU, Japan), Diwydiannau Gwasanaeth a sefydliadau'r Sector Cyhoeddus gan gynnwys y GIG. Ei ddiddordebau ymchwil cyfredol yw integreiddio Rhagoriaeth Gweithrediadau gyda Diwydiant 4.0 ac amgylchedd data Mawr, datblygu Galluoedd Gweithredol mewn cwmnïau micro a bach trwy ffurfio clwstwr, cynnal rhagoriaeth gweithrediadau, Modelau Busnes Economi Gylchol Arloesol.
Cyd-gyflwynodd gynhadledd Canolfan Ymchwil Menter Lean (LERC) ar 10 Medi 2019 ym mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Cyd-gadeiriodd yr 21ain Cynhadledd Rheoli Ansawdd a Datblygu Sefydliadol a gynhaliwyd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd rhwng 22ain a 24 Awst, 2018. Mae hefyd wedi cychwyn fforwm ymarfer cyntaf ar Lean Green ac Arloesi (iLEGO) sy'n dod â chymuned ymarferwyr ynghyd i drafod synergeddau a chamlinio rhwng y tri phwnc a hyrwyddo traws-ddysgu rhwng gwahanol ddiwydiannau. Cynhaliwyd y 4ydd gweithdy iLEGO ar 9 Medi 2020 ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd.
Yn 2020, cafodd ei gydnabod gyda'r Wobr 'Arloesi Busnes' @ Gwobrau Arloesi ac Effaith Prifysgol Caerdydd 2020 ar gyfer y prosiect gyda Siemens Logistics. Cafodd ei gydnabod hefyd gan y Gymdeithas Ymgysylltu Diwydiannol a Rheoli Gweithrediadau (IEOM) yn 2il Gynhadledd Ryngwladol Affrica ar Beirianneg Ddiwydiannol a Rheoli Gweithrediadau (7-10 Rhagfyr 2020), lle cafodd ei wahodd hefyd fel Prif Siaradwr. Mae Pwyllgor Gwobr IEOM wedi rhoi 'Gwobr Athro Nodedig' i'r Athro Kumar i gydnabod a gwerthfawrogi ei gyflawniadau, ei gyfraniadau a'i ymroddiad yn y proffesiwn peirianneg ddiwydiannol a rheoli gweithrediadau. Fe'i gwahoddwyd hefyd fel Prif Siaradwr mewn Uwchgynhadledd Rhagoriaeth Weithredol Ranbarthol (OPEX) a Thrawsnewid Digidol 4.0 a gynhaliwyd gan Gydffederasiwn Diwydiant India (CII), 24-26 Tachwedd 2020.
Mae wedi cael ei gydnabod am ei gyfraniadau rhagorol i addysgu yng Ngwobrau Dathlu Rhagoriaeth Prifysgol Caerdydd 2018 yn y categori 'Rhagoriaeth mewn Addysgu gan gynnwys Hyfforddiant a Datblygu'.
Mae wedi bod yn ymwneud â darparu hyfforddiant LSS hyd at lefel y Belt Du ac wedi cyflwyno sawl gweithdy ar gais LSS a Diwydiant 4.0 mewn gwahanol fath a maint y diwydiannau gan gynnwys Gwasanaethau Yswiriant Kwik-Fit, Standard Life, Admiral, Principality, Bakkavor Group, Norbert Dentressangle, Norgine Ltd., Celsa Steel, NHS Grampian, NHS Sheltand, Cyngor Dinas Caeredin, Cyngor Sir Aberdeen, Cymdeithas Cynhyrchwyr Cydrannau Modurol India (ACMA) a Tata Motors. Mae hefyd yn siaradwr rheolaidd mewn Cynadleddau a Seminarau Rhyngwladol ar LSS a Rhagoriaeth Prosesau.

- In 2017/18, Maneesh delivered Operations Management module in a local service company to facilitate experiential learning among students. This practice was recognised as innovative practice aligned with Public Value theme supported by Cardiff Business School.
