Fel ymchwilydd ôl-ddoethurol yn y Labordy Imiwnotherapïau Firaol a therapiwteg uwch (VITAL) mae fy ngwaith yn canolbwyntio ar gynhyrchu firysau oncolytig sy'n targedu celloedd canser y pancreas ac yn cyflwyno imiwnotherapïau yn uniongyrchol i'r tiwmor. Trwy ddefnyddio firws oncolytig wedi'i dargedu sy'n heintio celloedd canser y pancreas yn unig, rydym yn gobeithio "cynhesu" amgylchedd tiwmor y pancreas ac ysgogi ymateb imiwnedd tiwmor-benodol tra'n lleihau sgîl-effeithiau niweidiol a welir yn aml gyda therapïau systemig.
Mae fy PhD, a oedd yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu imiwnotherapïau newydd ar gyfer canser yr ysgyfaint, wedi rhoi sylfaen gref i mi mewn ymchwil imiwno-oncoleg. Cyn fy rôl bresennol, canolbwyntiodd fy ymchwil ôl-ddoctotral yn y labordy VITAL i ddechrau ar ymchwilio i ryngweithiadau firws:gwesteiwr sy'n sail i'r digwyddiadau thrombotig prin iawn yn dilyn brechiad SARS-CoV adenoviral. Mae'r arbenigedd ymchwil hwn yn caniatáu i mi briodi meysydd imiwno-onconoly a firoleg yn unigryw.
