Overview

As a post-doctoral researcher in the Viral ImmunoTherapies and Advanced therapeutics Lab (VITAL) my work focuses on generating oncolytic viruses which target pancreactic cancer cells and deliver immunotherapies directly to the tumour. By using a targeted oncolytic virus that only infects pancreatic cancer cells, we hope to "heat up" the pancreatic tumour environment and induce a tumour-specific immune response whilst reducing harmful side effects often seen with systemic therapies.

My PhD, which focused on developing new immunotherapies for lung cancer, has given me a strong foundation in immuno-oncology research. Prior to my current role, my post-doctotral research within the VITAL lab initially focused on investigating virus:host interactions underpinning the ultra-rare thrombotic events following adenoviral SARS-CoV vaccination. This research expertise allows me to uniquely bride the domains of immuno-onconoly and virology.
