Ymchwil
My research focusses on various aspects of basic and translational research, related to the mechanism underlying contrasting wound healing responses in oral (e.g. bone, oral mucosa, dental pulp) and dermal (e.g. normal skin, chronic wound) tissues, during health and disease. Such studies have furthered our understanding of oral and dermal tissues, enabling my research to also develop cellular, biomaterial and pharmaceutical strategies to promote tissue repair and disease management in patients.

Bywgraffiad
Dr Moseley is currently Reader in Tissue Repair and Programme Director of the MSc in Tissue Engineering, organized by the Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair (CITER).
He obtained his BSc in Biochemistry at Swansea University in 1991, before commencing his MRC-funded, PhD at the School of Dentistry, University of Wales College of Medicine (UWCM) in 1992. He obtained his PhD in 1996, before embarking on Postdoctoral Researcher positions at UWCM / Cardiff University (funded by the British Heart Foundation, Wellcome Trust and Johnson & Johnson Wound Management). In 2008, Dr Moseley was appointed Lecturer in Tissue Repair within the School of Dentistry and as Director of the CITER MSc Programme in Tissue Engineering, being promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2012 and to Reader in 2017.
Dr Moseley’s research focus on the mechanisms underlying cellular wound healing responses in oral (bone, oral mucosa, dental pulp) and dermal (normal skin, chronic wound) tissues during health and disease. By understanding these mechanisms, his Research Group aims to develop cellular, biomaterial and pharmaceutical strategies to promote repair in these tissues.
Dr Moseley has successfully managed numerous projects in these research areas, supported by non-commercial and commercial funding sources worldwide (>£2.0M to date), including the MRC, NHMRC (Australia), Wellcome Trust, NISCHR, Life Sciences Research Network Wales (Sêr Cymru), Malaysian Government, Iraqi Government, Saudi Arabian Government, Convatec Wound Care Ltd., Systagenix Wound Management Ltd., Peplin Inc.
