Trosolwyg
Mae gen i Gadair Marie Curie mewn Meddygaeth Gefnogol a Lliniarol ac rwy'n gyd-gyfarwyddwr Grŵp Reserch Gofal Lliniarol Marie Curie, sy'n eistedd yn yr Is-adran Meddygaeth Boblogaeth. Rwyf hefyd yn ymgynghorydd anrhydeddus mewn Meddygaeth Lliniarol ym Mwrdd Iechyd Aneurin Bevan Universirty.
Mae fy ymchwil a'm diddordebau clinigol yn gysylltiedig â thrombosis sy'n gysylltiedig â chanser gyda phwyslais arbennig ar reoli canser uwch a lle mae'r dystiolaeth yn brin. Rwyf wedi cydweithio ag ymchwilwyr rhyngwladol i archwilio effaith thrombosis sy'n gysylltiedig â chanser ar fywydau cleifion â thrombosis sy'n gysylltiedig â chanser ac rwy'n eiriolwr cryf dros bartner cleifion sy'n gweithio ym mhob math o ymchwil thrombosis.
Rwy'n credu y dylid dangos tystiolaeth o reoli cyflyrau sy'n effeithio ar gleifion gofal lliniarol a'i bod yn hanfodol i ofal cleifion da ein bod yn herio dogma sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth wael. Marw yw'r unig broses glinigol y bydd pob claf yn ei phrofi. Mae arnom ddyled i'n cleifion (a ninnau) sicrhau bod sail dystiolaeth gofal diwedd oes yn cael ei chynnal i'r un craffu â fferyllol sydd newydd ei farchnata.
Rwyf wedi darlithio mewn dros 40 o wledydd ar draws pum cyfandir. Mae fy hobïau yn cynnwys cerdded, hanes sinema a hip-hop.

Ymchwil
Rwy'n cymryd rhan yn y prosiectau ymchwil a'r cydweithrediadau canlynol:
Asesiad ymchwil ar gyfer rhwystro'r coluddyn malaen (RAMBO) (CI Noble S, Boland J). Mae hwn yn gydweithrediad ag Ysgol Feddygol Hull York i ddatblygu set ganlyniadau craidd ar gyfer rhwystro'r coluddyn malaen yn seiliedig ar fethodoleg COMET. Cyllidwyd gan Marie Curie.
Cleifion Experence o LIving gyda thrombosis a nodwyd CANcer (PELICAN) (CI Noble S). Mae'r cydweithrediad rhyngwladol hwn yn astudiaeth ansoddol i archwilio'r cyffredinrwydd a'r gwahaniaethau sydd gan wahanol systemau a diwylliannau gofal iechyd ar ansawdd bywyd cleifion canser sydd wedi cael diagnosis o thromboemboledd gwythiennol. Hyd yn hyn rydym wedi ymyrryd â 20 o gleifion o bob un o'r gwledydd canlynol: Y Deyrnas Unedig, Ffrainc (PI Mahe I), Sbaen (PI Font C), Canada (PI Lee AYY), Seland Newydd (PI Woulfe T), Singapore (PI Yap ES).
Clot Bio Canser yr Ysgyfaint: (CI Evans P, Noble S). Mae'r gwaith hwn yn gydweithrediad rhwng Uned Ymchwil Biofeddygol Haemostasis yng Nghanolfan Meddygaeth Frys Cymru ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe a'r MCPCRC yn yr Is-adran Meddygaeth Boblogaeth. Rydym yn edrych ar newidiadau yn microstrwythur ceulad cleifion canser lng sy'n derbyn therapïau gwrth-ganser systemig gyda chydberthynas â chanlyniadau radiolegol. Ariannwyd gan VElindre Stepping Stoones Charitable Funds.
Atal Gwrthgeulo ar gyfer embolism ysgyfeiniol israniadol ynysig neu achlysurol (STOPAPE) (CI Lasserson) Nod yr astudiaeth aml-ganolfan NIHR hon yw recriwtio 1466 o gleifion ag SSPE ynysig neu achlysurol i archwilio a yw'r rheolaeth orau i barhau neu atal gwrthgeulo wrth gael diagnosis. Cydlynwyd drwy Brifysgol Warwick. Ariannwyd gan NIHR.
