Gan weithio fel rhan o'r rhaglen ymchwil BuildZero , rwy'n archwilio gydag aelodau o'r cyhoedd, a rhanddeiliaid polisi, diwydiant a'r trydydd sector sut y gellid cyflawni economi gylchol adeiladau'r DU mewn ffyrdd sy'n bodloni canlyniadau cymdeithasol-ddiwylliannol, economaidd a materol dymunol erbyn 2050. Gan ddefnyddio methodoleg backcasting rydym yn datblygu gweledigaethau o ddyfodol posibl BuildZero ac yna yn cyd-greu llwybrau i nodi'r camau gweithredu sydd eu hangen i wireddu'r gweledigaethau hyn.
Rwyf wedi gweithio o'r blaen fel rhan o'r prosiect Greenhouse Gas Removal by Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), gan gyfrannu at wybodaeth am yr amodau cymdeithasol a moesegol ar gyfer defnyddio dulliau tynnu carbon deuocsid newydd ac anghyfarwydd yn y DU. Yn ystod yr ymchwil hon datblygais offer newydd i gyd-greu cynrychioliadau o le, pryderon moesegol ynghylch MRV, systemau llywodraethu ac effeithiau amgylcheddol gyda chymunedau sy'n debygol o gael eu heffeithio gan ERW os caiff eu defnyddio. Cyn hyn, roeddwn i'n gweithio fel rhan o Raglen Ymchwil y Ganolfan Adeiladu Actif, gan archwilio profiadau byw cartrefi carbon isel a di-garbon newydd yng Nghymru. Trwy ddadbacio safbwyntiau'r datblygwyr tai, cymunedau a thrigolion newydd, mae'r ymchwil hon wedi egluro sut mae datblygiadau o'r fath yn destun prosesau creu lleoedd ac yn gallu llywio. Yn y modd hwn mae ganddynt botensial i esblygu gydag ymlyniadau cymunedol presennol at le, cyfrannu at hunaniaeth, yn ogystal â mynd i'r afael â phryderon ar raddfa leol a chymdeithasol am newid yn yr hinsawdd.
Mae fy nghefndir mewn daearyddiaeth ddynol ac mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar y rhyngweithio perthnasol ac aml-raddfa rhwng bodau dynol a'r amgylchedd, a'r goblygiadau ar gyfer sut mae lleoedd yn cael eu deall a'u profi. Mae fy ymchwil wedi cynnwys archwilio datgarboneiddio ar gyfer cymunedau ymylol yng Nghymru sy'n canolbwyntio ar ynni a chyfiawnder gofodol. Mae'r gwaith hwn yn tynnu sylw at gysylltiadau rhwng strwythurau gofodol a dosbarthiad costau a manteision datgarboneiddio.
