Fel ymgeisydd ymchwil PhD yng ngrŵp Epigeneteg yr Ysgyfaint ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, rwy'n ymchwilio i rôl addasiadau epigenetig aberrant, sef newidiadau methylation DNA, a welwyd yn ysgyfaint cleifion ag anhwylderau cronig yr ysgyfaint (e.e. COPD, IPF). Er mwyn cyflawni hyn, rwy'n sefydlu set offer moleciwlaidd sy'n caniatáu cyflwyno addasiadau epigenetig wedi'u targedu i fodelau celloedd ysgyfaint dynol sylfaenol ac wedi'u hanfarwoli, ac archwilio sut mae'r newidiadau hyn yn effeithio ar lwybrau clefydau allweddol, megis gallu i atgyweirio a signalau celloedd.
