Rwy'n gweithio yn y Ganolfan Ymchwil Treialon (CTR) ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd fel Cymrawd Ymchwil mewn Ystadegau. Dyfarnwyd Cymrodoriaeth Ddoethurol NIHR Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru i mi yn 2019 i gwblhau PhD ar seicometreg, mesurau canlyniadau a adroddwyd gan gleifion (PROMs), damcaniaeth mesur Rash a phrawf ymaddasol cyfrifiadurol ym maes Gweithgarwch Clefyd Arthritis Rheumatoid. Cefais fy goruchwylio gan yr Athro Ernest Choy (Prifysgol Caerdydd), Dr Mike Horton (Prifysgol Leeds), Dr Karl Bang Christensen (Prifysgol Copenhagen), Dr Rhiannon Phillips (Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd) a Dr David Gillespie (Prifysgol Caerdydd).
Mae gen i Wobr Camau Nesaf Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru i barhau â'r ymchwil o fy PhD, a elwir yn astudiaeth PLAN-HERACLES.
Yn flaenorol, rwyf wedi dal swyddi yng Nghanolfan Triniaeth a Gwerthuso Arthritis Arbrofol Rhanbarthol Caerdydd (CREATE) ac wedi cael secondiad yn yr Ysgol Deintyddiaeth, a oedd yn ogystal ag ymchwil, yn cynnwys ystadegau addysgu ac SPSS i fyfyrwyr BDS, a darparu cefnogaeth ystadegol i fyfyrwyr MOrth a PhD.
Tan 2019, roedd fy ngwaith yn CTR yn ymwneud yn bennaf â bod yn ystadegydd ar dreialon clinigol lluosog a gwahanol, ar draws llawer o ddisgyblaethau amrywiol. Rwyf wedi datblygu diddordeb mewn diabetes, heintiau'r llwybr wrinol, rhewmatoleg a chyflyrau croen, yn ogystal â charïau deintyddol o fy ngwaith blaenorol yn yr Ysgol Ddeintyddiaeth. Yr ymyriadau yr wyf wedi canolbwyntio arnynt yw cwnsela newid ymddygiad, offer rhannu penderfyniadau a dyfeisiau/cymhorthion ar gyfer rhagnodi gwrthfiotig priodol.
Yn fy rôl yng nghanolfan CREATE, roeddwn yn ymchwilio i ddefnyddio methodoleg treialon clinigol cam cynnar ym maes rhewmatoleg. Roeddwn eisoes wedi dechrau ymchwilio i dechnegau i archwilio priodweddau seicometrig gwahanol Offerynnau Ansawdd Bywyd, ac roeddwn yn ffodus i dreulio fy nhraethawd hir MSc yn dysgu am, ac yn ymgymryd â nhw, dadansoddiadau Rasch, sy'n thema ymchwil barhaus.
Yn dilyn cais llwyddiannus, ymunais â charfan 2019 Crucible GW4 ar Arloesi Digidol a chefais gyllid sbarduno ar gyfer astudiaeth GW4-PATH.
Mae gen i BSc (Anrh) Gwyddorau Naturiol o Brifysgol Caerfaddon, MSc (rhagoriaeth) mewn Ymchwil Weithredol ac Ystadegau Appiled o Brifysgol Caerdydd a PhD mewn Meddygaeth o Brifysgol Caerdydd.

Mae arthritis gwynegol (RA) yn arthritis llidiol cronig cyffredin sy'n cael ei nodweddu gan ddifrifoldeb symptom amrywiol a fflêrs rheolaidd, sy'n gofyn am addasiadau monitro parhaus a thriniaeth ddilynol dros amser. Mae monitro gweithgarwch clefydau (DA) yn safon gofal yn RA. Mae'r asesiadau DA presennol yn gofyn am brofion labordy a/neu fewnbwn gweithiwr gofal iechyd proffesiynol (HCP). Felly, efallai y bydd Mesurau Canlyniadau a Adroddir gan Gleifion (PROMs), sef offer a gwblheir gan gleifion i ganfod canfyddiadau o'u hiechyd, yn well. Fodd bynnag, nid oes consensws ar sut i fesur RA DA gan ddefnyddio PROM.

Roeddwn yn anelu at asesu priodweddau mesur RA DA PROMs etifeddiaeth a Proms perthnasol eraill, a dechrau datblygu prom RA da newydd.
Defnyddiais sawl dull gan gynnwys adolygiad systematig yn dilyn Safonau Seiliedig ar COnsensus ar gyfer dewis canllawiau INtruments Mesur Iechyd (COSMIN), dadansoddiadau meintiol o ddata ar PROMs etifeddiaeth a gasglwyd mewn astudiaeth drawsdoriadol o bobl ag RA (pwRA) ar draws pedwar Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol De Cymru, dadansoddiadau thematig a chynnwys o gyfweliadau gwybyddol gyda pwRA a datblygu prawf addasol cyfrifiadurol.
Canfûm na ellir argymell unrhyw RA PROMs etifeddiaeth i'w defnyddio yn y dyfodol ac ni allai unrhyw PROMs etifeddiaeth ddangos tystiolaeth lawn sy'n addas i fodel theori mesur Rasch. Dangosais fod y parth byd-eang Cleifion yn ddau barth penodol o weithgarwch Clefydau ac iechyd cyffredinol. Gellir defnyddio 12 eitem ar draws parthau Poen, gweithgaredd Clefydau, Tynerwch a chwyddo, Gweithrediad corfforol a Stiffrwydd i fesur adeiladu RA DA. Sefydlais rywfaint o dystiolaeth gychwynnol o ddilysrwydd cynnwys ar gyfer yr eitemau hyn. Yn olaf, darganfyddais nad yw prawf addasol cyfrifiadurol yn darparu mantais fawr at ddibenion gweinyddu'r 12 eitem.
Mae fy nghanfyddiadau'n dangos y gellir mesur adeiladu RA DA gyda dim ond pum eitem, gydag un o bob un o'r meysydd Poen, Clefydau, Tynerwch a chwyddo, Gweithrediad corfforol a Stiffness. Y camau nesaf yw darganfod y ffordd orau o ddylunio'r pum eitem hyn a phrofi eu priodweddau mesur, cyn eu defnyddio fel rhan o offeryn monitro DA wythnosol.
Cynnwys cleifion a'r cyhoedd
Roedd pobl ag RA yn cymryd rhan drwy gydol oes y gymrodoriaeth hon, o helpu i ddylunio'r camau ymchwil, goruchwylio rhedeg y gymrodoriaeth, a helpu i ddeall ystyr y canlyniadau.
Cefais fy goruchwylio gan yr Athro Ernest Choy (Prifysgol Caerdydd), Dr Mike Horton (Prifysgol Leeds), Dr Karl Bang Christensen (Prifysgol Copenhagen), Dr Rhiannon Phillips (Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd) a Dr David Gillespie (Prifysgol Caerdydd).
