Sut allwn ni ddefnyddio datblygiadau technolegol newydd i ddatblygu atebion newydd ar gyfer iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol? Mae fy ymchwil yn archwilio'r cwestiwn hwn ar draws gwahanol boblogaethau (pobl hŷn, pobl ag anabledd dysgu, pobl awtistig, pobl â phendro) ac ar draws ystod o dechnolegau (wedi'u teilwra i'r brif ffrwd).
Mae rhai o fy mhrosiectau presennol yn cynnwys: deall allgáu digidol, dyfeisiau craff i wella lles, asiantaeth, a chysylltedd cymdeithasol i bobl hŷn a phobl ag anabledd dysgu, realiti rhithwir / estynedig a gemau fideo ar gyfer pobl â phendro cronig (yn benodol, pendro canfyddiadol ôl-nerfol parhaus, PPPD, neu 'vertigo gweledol'), ac amgylcheddau amlsynhwyraidd ar gyfer pobl Awtistig a phobl ag anabledd dysgu.
Rwy'n defnyddio dull dulliau cymysg sy'n cyfuno mesurau ansoddol a meintiol, astudiaethau arsylwadol, niwroddelweddu, a seicoffiseg. Rwy'n gweithio'n agos gydag ymarferwyr, sefydliadau gofal cymdeithasol a phobl sydd â phrofiad byw i gyd-ddatblygu fy mhrosiectau ymchwil.

Ymchwil
Technoleg Smart mewn lleoliadau gofal cymdeithasol
A all technolegau cartref smart wella lles, annibyniaeth, unigrwydd, a diogelwch mewn lleoliadau gofal cymdeithasol? Mewn cydweithrediad â sefydliadau gofal cymdeithasol, rwy'n ymchwilio i'r cwestiwn hwn ar gyfer oedolion hŷn a phobl ag anabledd dysgu (deallusol).
Mae technoleg glyfar yn dod yn fwyfwy hollbresennol ym mywyd beunyddiol, a gallai gofal cymdeithasol fanteisio ar y datblygiadau hyn i ddatblygu modelau cymorth newydd.
Mae technolegau craff prif ffrwd yn caniatáu i bobl reoli eu hamgylchedd cartref trwy orchmynion llais, gosod nodiadau atgoffa ar gyfer meddyginiaeth ac arferion dyddiol, ychwanegu gwerth cymdeithasol, a darparu mwy o hygyrchedd na dyfeisiau traddodiadol.
Pendro Canfyddiadol Ôl-weithredol Parhaus (PPPD, neu 'vertigo gweledol')
Darganfyddwch fwy ar dudalen we Lab Dizzy Prifysgol Caerdydd!
Rydym yn cydweithio â chlinigwyr festibular yn Ysbyty Athrofaol Cymru sy'n ceisio deall mwy am achosion PPPD a chyflyrau pendro eraill, a datblygu gwell offer i'w mesur a'u hadsefydlu.
Rydym wedi datblygu gêm adsefydlu newydd ar y we ar gyfer fertigo gweledol o'r enw Balance-Land - gallwch ddysgu mwy amdano yma!
Mae ein hymchwil hyd yn hyn wedi dangos bod symptomau fertigo gweledol yn hynod gyffredin yn y boblogaeth gyffredinol a bod y cyflwr yn gysylltiedig ag osgoi a sensitifrwydd ar draws pob synnwyr (h.y. nid yn unig i weledigaeth a vestibular).
Rydym hefyd wedi datblygu holiadur newydd, sef Graddfa Gorsensitifrwydd Caerdydd - Gweledol (CHYPS), sy'n diffinio ac yn mesur y pedwar ffactor sensitifrwydd gweledol.
Os ydych chi'n glinigwr ac yr hoffech gael mynediad i'n fideos sy'n dangos amgylcheddau sy'n sbardunau posibl ar gyfer PPPD, ewch i dudalen we prosiect PPPD Caerdydd .
Amgylcheddau synhwyraidd (amgylcheddau amlsynhwyraidd, ystafelloedd synhwyraidd) ar gyfer pobl awtistig, pobl ag anabledd dysgu a phobl â chyflyrau eraill
Gall amgylcheddau synhwyraidd gael effaith fawr ar ein lles - a yw'r golau'n rhy ddisglair? Oes gormod o sŵn cefndir? Ond gall symbyliad synhwyraidd hefyd fod yn ymlacio ac yn lleddfol pan fyddwn dan straen ac yn ofidus.
Rydym yn archwilio gwahaniaethau unigol mewn profiadau synhwyraidd a phwysigrwydd amgylcheddau synhwyraidd mewn nifer o wahanol boblogaethau a lleoliadau. Mae'r rhain yn cynnwys, amgylcheddau amlsynhwyraidd (ystafelloedd synhwyraidd) mewn lleoliadau addysgol ar gyfer plant a phobl ifanc awtistig, amgylcheddau synhwyraidd yn y cartref i bobl ag anabledd dysgu (deallusol), a gwahaniaethau unigol yn y boblogaeth gyffredinol.
Ar y cyd â Catherine Jones, rwy'n defnyddio ystafell synhwyraidd bwrpasol yng Nghanolfan Gwyddor Datblygiadol Dynol Prifysgol Caerdydd i ddeall mwy am sut a pham i ddefnyddio ystafelloedd synhwyraidd. Rydym wedi datblygu canllaw sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth ar gyfer defnyddio ystafelloedd synhwyraidd mewn lleoliadau addysgol ar gyfer plant awtistig, y gellir ei gyrchu yma
