Rwy'n beiriannydd electronig yn ôl cefndir, ac mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn ymwneud â datblygu offerynnau newydd ar gyfer casglu data o'r maes, yn enwedig mewn rhewlifeg.
Rwy'n Gymrawd Arweinwyr y Dyfodol UKRI, yn gweithio ar offerynnau ffynhonnell agored ar gyfer casglu data amser real o rewlifoedd a llenni iâ. Mae hyn yn cynnwys datblygu offerynnau newydd sy'n mesur pecyn eira, nentydd uwchrewlifol, ac amodau rhewlifol ac is-rewlifol. Rwy'n esbonio mwy am fy nghynlluniau yn y fideo isod:

Mae'r cynnydd ar y cynlluniau hyn wedi bod yn ardderchog - mae gennym offerynnau bellach wedi'u defnyddio yn yr Ynys Las a Chanada ac yn anfon data byw atom trwy gyswllt lloeren. Gallwn fesur pwysedd dŵr, dargludedd trydanol a thymheredd mewn tyllau turio a moulins, ac mae'r cyswllt radio wedi cael ei ddangos i weithio trwy gannoedd o fetrau o iâ cynnes, a cilometrau o iâ oer. Yn ystod 2019-2021 gweithiais ar brosiect Cryoegg gyda Dr Liz Bagshaw, sydd bellach ym Mhrifysgol Bryste. Mae Cryoegg yn chwiliedydd di-wifr ar gyfer gwneud mesuriadau o amodau o dan rewlifoedd. Os hoffech ddysgu mwy am Cryoegg, edrychwch ar rai o'r dolenni hyn:

Ymchwil
My research interests relate to the use of technology (particularly electronics and communications technology) in glaciology and hydrology. I have a special interest in satellite communications for remote data collection.
