Addysgu
Bywgraffiad
My previous post was for Caerphilly County Borough Council as a Participation Officer where I developed and co-ordinated a children$acirc; s forum for 8 to 11 year olds. My work for the last 10 years has been with children and young people from 2 to 25 years old, in a variety of settings including nurseries, schools and youth clubs. All my work has been focused on involving children and young people in decision-making in practice or research.
My academic focus is also about decision-making, with my MA dissertation exploring the impacts of involvement in a local authority participation forum from the perspectives of the children and staff of that forum. I recently graduated from Swansea University with a first class Masters in Childhood Studies.
I work for PHIRN and DECIPHer as the Involving Young People Research Officer to coordinate a young people$acirc; s research advisory group called ALPHA; to advise researchers, facilitate, monitor and evaluate the involvement of children, young people, parents and careers in directing individual research; to use data collected about the involvement process to contribute to the evidence base for effective public involvement in health improvement research.
