Mae ymchwilydd amlddisgyblaethol gweledigaethol yn mynd i'r afael yn fedrus â heriau ynni ac amgylcheddol cymhleth trwy harneisio pŵer gwyddorau cemegol ac egwyddorion peirianneg. Mae fy athroniaeth ymchwil, fel arweinydd ysbrydoledig, yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygiad strategol lefelau parodrwydd technoleg, yr wyf yn eu dangos yn effeithiol mewn senarios yn y byd go iawn. Fy mhrif flaenoriaeth yw meithrin syniadau ymchwil diriaethol a harneisio canlyniadau arbrofol i arddangos galluoedd technegol a dichonoldeb masnachol systemau ynni integredig, dal a storio carbon, a gweithrediadau ynni anghonfensiynol i gyflawni nodau sero-net. Mae fy rôl bresennol ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd yn cynnwys datblygu systemau ynni integredig seiliedig ar amonia ar raddfa arddangosydd a chrefftio trawsnewidyddion catalytig ar gyfer cracio amonia effeithlon ar raddfa labordy (Prosiect FLEXnCONFU).

Ar ôl cyfnod llwyddiannus fel cyswllt cydlynydd a Chymrawd Ymchwil ar gyfer prosiect ROCCS, a
€ 2 M Cronfa Ymchwil y Comisiwn Ewropeaidd ar gyfer prosiect a ariennir gan Dur Glo (EC / RFCS) i ddangos graddfa beilot CO2 storio mewn gwythiennau glo, rwyf bellach yn gweithio fel Ymgynghorydd Allanol ar gyfer Cyflenwi a Rheoli Prosiectau . Cyn ymuno â'r prosiect, cyfrannais fy ngwybodaeth a'm sgiliau at gyd-gyflwyno'r prosiectau ymchwil, datblygu ac arloesi (RD&I) gwerth uchel a ariennir gan y Comisiwn Ewropeaidd canlynol ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd:

MEGA+, prosiect € 2.8 miliwn a ariennir gan y Comisiwn / RFCS (2018-2019): Llwyddais i reoli a chyflwyno'r rhaglen arbrofol o brofion nwyon glo tanddaearol rhagarweiniol ar gyfer y prosiect MEGA +, yn ogystal â chefnogi'r rhaglen arbrofol ar raddfa fawr y tu allan yn Sefydliad Mwyngloddio Canolog Gwlad Pwyl.
2. Mae SEREN yn brosiect ymchwil a datblygu gwerth £10.4 miliwn y Comisiwn / ERDF (Cronfa Datblygu Rhanbarthol Ewrop) sy'n canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu technolegau peirianneg arloesol ar gyfer cymwysiadau masnachol yn y sector geo-ynni. Fy nghyfraniad oedd mesur ac asesu potensial ynni fy mwriadi ar gyfer gwresogi ardal, a chydnabuwyd y gwaith hwn yn Briff Ymchwil Cynulliad Cymru. Roedd y profiad hwn hefyd yn cynnwys caffael setiau data ar gyfer prosiectau arddangos gwresogi dŵr mwynglawdd o'r radd flaenaf yng Nghymru (1. Cynllun gwresogi ardal yng Nghaerau, Cwm Llynfi Uchaf, De Cymru, y DU, a 2. Peilota ar raddfa pwll dŵr yn gwresogi ffermdy yng Nghrymnant, Cymru).
3. Mae FLEXIS yn rhaglen Ymchwil a Datblygu Ewropeaidd gwerth £30 miliwn sydd â'r nod o ddatblygu systemau ynni hyblyg ac integredig. Fy nhasg oedd ymchwilio i botensial geo-ynni maes glo De Cymru. Fy mwriad mawr oedd rheoli drilio tri thyll turio 500 i 600 metr o hyd ym Maes Glo De Cymru i gasglu data sylfaenol (geoffisegol-gemegol) ar gyfer gweithrediadau ynni anghonfensiynol yn y dyfodol . Yn ystod fy nghyfnod yn FLEXIS, fe wnes i helpu i lansio prosiect gwresogi dŵr mwynglawdd Llynfi Vally.
Ar hyn o bryd, rwy'n gweithio i brosiect FLEXnCONFU i grefftio trawsnewidyddion catalytig ar gyfer cracio amonia effeithlon. Ar y cyd â phartneriaid allanol, rwyf ar hyn o bryd yn datblygu cynnig cymrodoriaeth amlddisgyblaethol arddangoswr ar gyfer system ynni cymunedol oddi ar y grid 16 MWh / blwyddyn o amonia/hydrogen.
Mae Prifysgol Caerdydd wedi dyfarnu'r Wobr Cyfraniad Eithriadol i mi am fy nghyfraniadau ymchwil i'r prosiectau uchod o 2018 i 2019. Cyn dechrau ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, gweithiais ar atal gwastraff niwclear daearegol ar gyfer fy PhD. Cyllidwyd fy PhD gan Weinyddiaeth Adnoddau Dynol India, a chanolbwyntiodd ar ddatblygu deunyddiau clai i gadw'r elfen ymbelydrol ffoadurol Iodine-129.
