Trosolwyg
Dr Mae Tania Sharmin, yn Uwch Ddarlithydd yn Ysgol Pensaernïaeth Cymru (WSA), Prifysgol Caerdydd. Ers cwblhau ei PhD ym Mhrifysgol Caergrawnt, a ariennir gan Wobr 'Cyfadran ar gyfer y Dyfodol' Sefydliad Schlumberger, mae Tania wedi canolbwyntio ei hymchwil ar berfformiad amgylcheddol yr amgylchedd adeiledig ac effeithiau newid yn yr hinsawdd ar ficrohinsoddau trefol a chysur thermol dynol. Ei harbenigedd ymchwil yw archwilio'r berthynas rhwng morffoleg drefol a microhinsawdd trwy fesuriadau microhinsawdd a dadansoddi data lloeren. Mae Tania wedi cynnal ymchwiliadau trylwyr i ficrohinsawdd gofodau trefol awyr agored mewn cyd-destunau trefol dwysedd uchel yn y trofannau, gan archwilio ei effeithiau ar gysur thermol dynol a pherfformiad ynni adeiladu.
Gyda chefndir mewn cynllunio a dylunio trefol sy'n ymatebol i'r hinsawdd a gwybodaeth arbenigol mewn modelu deinameg hylifol cyfrifiadurol uwch (CFD), ynni adeiladu, efelychiadau cysur thermol, a dadansoddi data synhwyro o bell, mae Tania yn awyddus i ddeall y broses gynhesu trefol mewn dinasoedd dwysedd uchel ynghylch effaith ynys gwres trefol (UHI) a'i ryngweithio â newid hinsawdd byd-eang. Mae ganddi ddiddordeb arbennig mewn deall sut mae digwyddiadau gwres eithafol mewn cydberthynas ag Ysbyty Athrofaol yn effeithio ar iechyd y cyhoedd a chysur thermol pobl mewn cymunedau incwm isel. Mae gan Tania arbenigedd mewn casglu data goddrychol trwy holiaduron a chyfweliadau ar ficrohinsoddau trefol a chysur thermol dynol, sy'n hanfodol ar gyfer datblygu atebion gwella iechyd mewn ardaloedd poblog iawn.
Ar hyn o bryd mae Tania yn arwain prosiect CCAUC a ariennir gan ODA 2024-25 yn Cairo i wella gwytnwch yn erbyn gwendidau gwres eithafol trwy archwilio amlygiad gwres yn Rhanbarth Cairo Fwyaf (GCR) trwy synhwyro o bell lloeren ac astudiaethau achos penodol. Bydd y prosiect hefyd yn casglu data ar ganfyddiadau gwres lleol ac arferion cymdeithasol-ddiwylliannol, tra'n cynnal mesuriadau microhinsawdd i gefnogi dadansoddiad a nodi ymyriadau lleol posibl. Yn flaenorol, mae Tania wedi arwain fel prosiect a ariennir gan QR ar gyfer Ymchwil Lloegr 2019 yn Ahmedabad, India yn archwilio'r prosesau dylunio ôl-feddiannaeth a chyfranogol o fewn setliad incwm isel ar yr ymylon ar gyfer deall mecanweithiau ymdopi'r gymuned yn ystod gwres eithafol a nodi eu gofynion ar gyfer dylunio anheddau cydnerth newid hinsawdd trwy eu cynnwys yn y broses ddylunio ac adeiladu.
Yn ddiweddar, mae Tania wedi cwblhau Cymrodoriaeth Byd-eang Fung (2022-23) ym Mhrifysgol Princeton, UDA, gan archwilio cynhesu trefol a chynnal iechyd mewn mannau trefol ym megacities.Mae Tania yn Gyd-I ym mhrosiect Ecosystem Bontio Werdd AHRC (AH/Y003772/1) 3.8m ar gyfer creu Llwyfan Map Agored Cymunedol (COMP), ar gyfer cymunedau gwledig, datgysylltiedig a difreintiedig ar Ynys Môn, Cymru. Mae ei chyfraniadau yn cynnwys sefydlu, gweithredu a dadansoddi monitro amgylcheddol a chasglu data drwy ddull gwyddor dinasyddion trwy ymgysylltu â'r gymuned leol. Mae Tania yn Gyd-I yn yr EPSRC-Research (EP/Y00177X/1) (165k): SMART-H: SMART-Health-care. Ochr yn ochr â Tania mae Cyd-I ym mhrosiect Cyfrif Cyflymu Effaith Cytûn Prifysgol Caerdydd (IAA, 50k) ar: Darllen gwydn gwres ar gyfer poblogaeth fregus. Yn flaenorol, mae TS wedi cymryd rhan yn llwyddiannus ym mhrosiectau Cysylltiadau Ymchwilwyr y Cyngor Prydeinig a Chronfa Newton fel Cyd-Ymchwilydd yn canolbwyntio ar Atebion Seiliedig ar Natur a Modelu UHI yn yr Iorddonen ac effeithlonrwydd ynni, cysur thermol a lleihau allyriadau yn Cairo ac fel Cyd-I ar gyfer prosiect GCRF a ariennir gan QR ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ar amgylchedd adeiledig cynaliadwy a gwydn yn yr hinsawdd ym Malawi.

Ymchwil
Mae Dr Tania Sharmin wedi datblygu methodoleg arloesol, amlhaenog sy'n integreiddio ymchwil microhinsawdd trefol ac Ynys Gwres Trefol (UHI) i asesu eu heffaith ar iechyd. Ei hymchwiliadau oedd y cyntaf i ddangos effeithiau cadarnhaol geometreg a morffoleg drefol amrywiol ar ficrohinsawdd a Chysur Thermol Awyr Agored (OTC) mewn rhanbarthau trofannol, fel yr amlygwyd mewn astudiaeth gyda 128 dyfyniad. Nododd hefyd gyfyngiadau mewn offer Deinameg Hylifol Cyfrifiannol (CFD) ar gyfer dal amrywiadau tymheredd aer sy'n gysylltiedig ag amrywiaeth morffolegol, canfyddiad sydd wedi derbyn 156 dyfyniad. Yn ogystal, datblygodd Tania Fynegai Cysur Thermol Tymheredd Cyfwerth Ffisiolegol (PET) yn benodol ar gyfer dinasoedd trofannol, gyda 92 dyfyniad, a chreu modelau OTC rhagfynegol gan ddefnyddio paramedrau meteorolegol, personol a seicolegol trwy dechnegau atchweliad uwch, gan ennill 30 dyfyniad.
Mae prosiectau/grantiau ymchwil presennol a blaenorol Dr Sharmin, yn cynnwys:
