Cydymaith Ymchwil
Trosolwyg
Rwy'n gydymaith ymchwil ansoddol yn y Ganolfan Ymchwil Treialon (CTR), gyda chefndir mewn cymdeithaseg feddygol, astudiaethau gwyddoniaeth a thechnoleg, a biomoeseg. Methodolegol, mae fy ngwaith yn canolbwyntio ar ddulliau ethnograffig ac ansoddol, gwyddoniaeth gweithredu, a dylunio ymchwil cydweithredol/amlddisgyblaethol.
Archwiliodd fy PhD (2015) ymddangosiad a chyfieithu clinigol profion cyn-geni anfewnwthiol (NIPT), gan dynnu ar gyfweliadau â chleifion, clinigwyr ac arbenigwyr. Archwiliodd yr astudiaeth sut mae NIPT yn aillunio ffiniau rhwng sgrinio a diagnosis, a sut mae'n croestorri â dadleuon moesegol, cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol cymhleth - yn enwedig ynghylch erthyliad a disgwrs biofoesegol.
Ar hyn o bryd, rwy'n arwain NEPTUNE, astudiaeth ddilynol sy'n archwilio integreiddio NIPT i sgrinio cynenedigol arferol yng Nghymru, ac yn cyd-gynnull rhwydwaith ymchwil ansoddol y CTR.
Cyn hyn, gweithiais ar ystod o brosiectau ansoddol a biofoesegol yn Cesagen (Canolfan Agweddau Economaidd a Chymdeithasol Genomeg), yr Uned Arbenigol ar gyfer Tystiolaeth Ymchwil (SURE), ac Ysgol Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol Prifysgol Caerdydd. Roedd fy nghyfraniadau yn rhychwantu pynciau amrywiol, gan gynnwys moeseg atgenhedlu, technolegau biometrig, llywodraethu biobancio a gofal dementia.
